Asiana livery is disappointing; titles really miss the mark. Need to be larger IMHO. They're lost below the window line.

The OZ livery ain't fantastic nor is it boring and I agree they missed the mark with the titles... They missed the titles big time...

Agreed. I thought the same with the A380s.

Any updates on MSN 149 DL #3? Also, from a pic posted yesterday, it looked like DL #4 and 5 had the tail painted and was fully assembled. Being that 5 DL A350's are expected to be delivered this year, the remaining 3 should be on property relatively soon?

Still about 4 months left in the year if you count September since we are only 4 days in.

First read my reply #3427 above concerning DL #3. As you can see from the photo, they both appear to be engineless and still to go into cabin fit! Otherwise they are obviously fully assembled! As I mentioned in my reply #3418 above, three more are being delivered in the last quarter. I'm sure we'll get delivery updates closer to the exact month later.

thanks much. Being that DTW-NRT goes daily end of October and DTW-ICN goes daily December 15th I believe, I guess its safe to say at least 4 will be on property by the end of October or thereabouts.

If Starbuck's list is accurate (which I believe it is…), I see that the amount of rework to be done on new frames seems to have diminished to a trickle… In fact, the only airplanes that are currently in rework are all QR frames…

And the delay on the QR aircraft seem to have a positive effect on other operators. Deliveries of MSN 145 MK #1, MSN 159 MH #1 and MSN 165 MH #2 have been pushed forward by about 4 weeks each.

Air Mauritius is now getting its first A350 in Oktober instead of November, and Malaysia Airlines is getting its first 2 A350s in November and December instead of December an January previously.

It really is showing up that there is something other than just Airbus quality at fault here. That other frames are churning out and being accepted is telling.

According to Airbus and RR, there was just "a small issue" with the combustion chamber. It clearly didn't stop EASA from certifying the XWB-97 engine.

MSN 65 performed a RTO today, suggesting the engines got replaced and the aircraft is preparing for route proving flights.

Much better for issues to be found, solved, tested and proven now than after entry into service.

(Hint I wish P&W had the same!)

Glad it didn't impact certification in any way.
Looking forward to the route proving flights and hoping it will perform better than expected.

EASA type certificate data sheet now includes the Trent XWB-97 engine.

See https://www.easa.europa.eu/system/files ... 04_1.0.pdf

XWB-97 dry weight is 7550 kg, versus 7277 kg for the XWB-84.

No ETOPS capability yet.

You need to have the URL of the image itself (which you can get by right-clicking on it and selecting "copy image address"). You then put this inside [img] tags:
