Second test flight for MSN 144 (OZ #3) #AIB02NJ.
Also looks like an engine change to MSN 78 (QR #19) which underwent an engine run in the pit.

The A350 will pick up supplies at CDG, deliver the goods at PTP and bring back 200 people.

Yes indeed. I'm just wondering if this is the first time this or any test airplane transports non airbus/customer employees and press. If there is some kind of permit for it, it might have been waivered for this special circumstance.

The A350 is certified and production did not get turned inside out for the customer frames.
Should present as a regular certified and registered to Airbus frame ( a long as no new test package is installed.)

Would these new engine`s be the one`s with the revised combuster components? I guess it would make
sense as these aircraft are about to embark on their final series of shakedown trials before EIS.

As mentioned some time ago, RR was dealing with a last minute issue in the Trent XWB-97 combustion chamber. This has postphoned A350-1000 route proving trails from August to September.

Airbus is not an airline however. I think that is what mat66 was getting out in regards to possibly needing a permit/waiver to carry the non-Airbus personnel for transportation purposes.

Interesting question.
They won't take any money for the flights i.e. _not_ an airline but more like hobbyist :-).

It probably took longer to get the paper work done than prepping the airplane for flight, but I'm sure the regulatory authority was sympathetic to there cause.

Similar evacuations have taken place before, i.e. after typhoon Tracy Qantas did evacuation flights out of Darwin with airplanes packed well above the normal legal limit -- one flight had 674 people on a 747 configured to hold about half that amount.

Would require a few favours from insurers and airworthiness authorities, but who would hesitate or say no. Probably treated as dispensation under experimental rules, where demonstration payloads and people are transported.

The Darwin evacuations are from a different era, didn't involve flying outside Australia, the State owned airline was requested / instructed to do so by it's owners, and probably the Government self-insured, used military or other Government cover.

I've had DL #3 on my mind all week, thanks for the pic. I am surprised she's not even painted yet. I know it doesn't take long to paint a plane but any estimates on when DL #3 will be delivered? I know there is a delivery schedule up thread but it'll be nearly impossible to find. Thanks :)

you still see the greenish coatings on AL parts. ( see the A350 nose as an example.)
nothing has changed actually.
Plastics tend to get that beige or on occasion greyish primer coat and
for some select parts are finished up with the customer airlines livery.
( see any A380 for what gets either type of coating.
tailcone : CFRP : beige or airline finish.)
