The first A350 for Air Caraibes is planned for November this year, is that correct? When are Air France and KLM scheduled to receive their first A350's?

I'm not seeing Air Caraibes getting one until Q1-2017, probably February. AFKLM (Air France) first one in 2019.

The first to be delivered to Air Caraibes could be MSN5...

No chance. MSN 5 isn't due until July 2017 at the earliest. It will be the third to Air Caraibes after MSN 82 (Feb 2017?) and MSN 91 (Apr 2017?)

Cathay Video at the hong kong hanger, I arrived in Hong Kong yesterday, I climbed a mountain today to get this shot for you  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FdlxXY6yjg
I'll be climbing again hopefully to get the 9am first flight or the 4pm flight. They might do a flight before then maybe like with just staff but i have no idea if that's what airlines do, so is it worth me climbing the day after tomorrow as well (tomorrow has CB at 800 feet so i'd probably be struck by lightening lol)

You might want to check their scheduled flights. I don't see it listed until 1 June for the 07:35 flight, and then 2 June for the 09:00 flight.

- Reinforced MLG
- Aerodynamic improvements
- Modified fuel system
- Adapted cabin & cargo layout
- MTOW 280t

Any reason why that won't become standard on the -900?

I suppose it could become the standard on the -900 after the introduction of the ULR.

Tomorrow's first flight is CX 907 (HKG-MNL) leaving @ 07:35 followed by CX 906 (MNL-HKG) arriving back into HKG @ 13:15. you can see it on the CX website by attempting a booking (although the flight is full!)
Good luck spotting!

That incremental development seems a lot like what Airbus have done with the A330. It would be fascinating to know how capable a 2036 build A350 will be after ~ 20 years on continuous development. I wonder how much they'll be able to reduce the DOW by?

Could you explain more? Yesterday they helped me change to a later date of august 11th because that's when the new date would be for the first flight to hong kong.
They said it was delayed from 1st august.
And the google flights also now shows 11th august

If they achieve the same improvements over the next 5 years for the A350-1000 then the 777-9 will have an extremely difficult time in the market.

It is certainly going to be one hell of a competitor to it. No free ride for the 777-9. I suspect the 777 will not make the sort of margin it has done in the past. I hope Boeing has saved these profits to invest in the next products...

Actually right on schedule! Its the delayed ones around it that make it look like its been going on fast. The best way to monitor "scheduled" speed of A359 production cycle is to look at the Singapore/LATAM/Ethiopian/Thai frames. MSN 31/35 recently delivered. MSN 37/40 in pre-flight testing. MSN 41/44/45/48 in cabin/engine outfitting. Those are going through the steps with little, if any, hiccups. On the other hand the Qatar/Finnair/Cathay frames are all over the place due to various issues (mostly furnishings).

I think the 777-9 is somewhat already. Whilst it has more orders than the A350-1000, they only come from five customers. Will certainly be interesting to see how this plays out.
