This is a rather unusal picture, isn't it? Obviously taken from a driving car by a Chinese visitor of Airbus' facilities in TLS. I wonder about this person on the dirt track. Doesn't look as he has a professional reason to walk there.

See the door in direct line to the "Trampelpfad". I am rather certain if you sight along the reverse direction there is another door
in another building in a similar position.

Do you know what's gonna happen to the test airframes next? I've seen somewhere that MSN3 is supposed to be donated to a museum, while MSN2 and 4 are on their way to being refurbished for a customer. Any timeframe?

QR will be first in December based on current plans. Launch was years ago and is different from Entry Into Service.

So, what is the plan now ? To take over all the space at the delivery center so that no other airline can get A350 delivered ?

I think there is still more to be told of this QR deferral story. Interesting that their 4 A350 cancellations have not been reversed as some had expected.

I understood that they eventually decided (or were told?) to take the four that had already been built and four later frames will not now be taken.

The cancellation doesn't have to be reversed in the order book, Airbus and QR can simply agree to not build the final 4 A350s of the outstanding order.

If the orderbook is not updated then the cancellations stand. Which frames QR eventually takes is a separate issue. Airbus seems to think that the much delayed frames will be delivered but QR is still not taking them. Interesting.

You seem to be mixing up a few things. QR canceled 4 aircraft that have been built already (MSN 63/78/90/100). Now both parties agreed to deliver those aircraft. The order book doesn't have to be updated to account those 4 aircraft.

If the final registration has been applied it normally means that handover has occurred. Why would Qatar accept them and then not take delivery?

Yeah, QR who is in such need for aircraft to be delivered and the delays by Airbus on the A350 and P&W on the A320 has cost them money because they cannot operate their flights that they want to. They can also supply 10 A320's to help those stuck by the collapse of Monarch on short notice. But lets pretend its Airbus holding them back.
