It was moved away from the flight line on Friday, not sure where it went to. Perhaps it needs additional work.

FR24 shows it's been flying to JFK since DEC19 but also, flying as A7-AMB as it was.

WHATS GOING ON WITH FR24???

Dunno. This morning it had PR-XTE operating that flight on the map, but when I just checked the listings, PR-XTA. Odd.

What are the implications of an extra 3000kgs on the -1000? Extra range ....extra payload? See still awaiting ETOPS and all weather limitation. Looks as EIS slipping into February?

Both. You can now lift up to another 3000kg of payload or up to another 3000kg of fuel or a mix thereof.

Are weight variants fixed in production or can they be simply changed over the life of a frame (for a fee of course)?

My point re extra range and or payload seeks to guage how it affects the relative attractiveness of the a/c compared with competing airframes. In other words how material is it in a business case

I suppose if it takes 3 tons extra payload it will have a slightly shorter range and if it is 3 tons extra fuel it will be able to carry the same payload over a slightly longer range.

It does add flexibility to the frame - but incurs extra costs.

Still a few more days to go but has anyone else noticed that 2017 is going to be the year when there were more A350s built and delivered than 777s? Let that sink in for a moment.

ignore. brain fart.

To note:
We've seen few MTOW increases that fully mirrored into MZFW markup.

Thanks for the very quick and documented reply!
Oh well, I guess they will not deliver it this year. But still, even then and if they fall short of the 80 deliveries over a year, achieving a more stable output rate (there are a lot of frames in all stages of completion, so I do not see January 2018 go with a single delivery as January 2017), it is still pretty good.

Regarding the Aerolíneas Argentinas 350 news, its all fake. Today in many latin countries is Inocents day, the equivalent of April Fools Day in other parts.
If you read it, at the end it says so.
Best wishes for the new year.

All that is probably going is QR found some small issue and Airbus does not have enough staff over the break to fix it....

Hong Kong Airlines will lease 2 additional A350s from ALAFCO, bringing its A350 fleet at 20 aircraft.

How does this make 20 aircraft. I thought they only had 4 secured plus this would make 2 options.

No. They are taking the four they tried to dodge but have cancelled the last four that were previously on order. But, agreed: that should have no bearing on slots for Aerolineas.

Indeed: those 4 aircraft at the end of the line are post 2020 production slots.

Is it possible that QR have released 4 earlier slots to Aerolineas?

Has Airbus ever delivered any aircraft on a Sunday before, even if it's the last day of the quarter/year?
