Currently at TLS, parts are arriving for msn #70 (SQ #9) and #71 (A350-1K #3). AA #1 is #106 and DL #1 is 115.

This probably have been mentioned in the previous threads but anyway, A350-1000 #1 first flight
is scheduled for September 8th.

First for AA is MSN106 and first for DL MSN115, so should be towards the end of this year that parts should start arrive in TLS, maybe into early 2017 for the DL frame

Not all of them are actually early slots. Delivery of the aircraft was spread out to 2021. I believe the early deliveries are the ones they are leasing from IFLC (which they are taking and not cancelling).

IIRC, AA should get their first 359 in Q4 of 2017, so start counting backwards from there.

DL is pretty close to AA in the firing order , so they may roll out pretty close to each other

Much earlier than that... AA is expecting 4x A359s in 2017. DL is expecting 6x A359s in 2017. First deliveries should be in Q2-2017 for both operators.

MSN 23 (Finnair #5) had its final registration, OH-LWE, applied overnight. Delivery flight possibly as early as today. HEL-PEK begins on A359 starting May 9th. Total deliveries for April = 2. I'm forecasting 5 for May (QR, JJ, SQ, CX, QR).

MSN 25 (Qatar #10) just completed her Rejected Takeoff on her third day trying to do so! First flight should happen this week.

In other news, MSN 29 (Cathay #1) has been back online for the past few days. Assuming the seats have finally arrived, being loaded ahead of customer acceptance flights later this month. MSN 33 (Qatar #11) is online daily going through her pre-engine run checks. MSN 21 (Qatar #9) has gone completely quiet since being moved to the delivery centre last month. Qatar must have found something wrong which requires replacement parts to be flown in or manufactured prior to customer acceptance flights.

G'day

I was misled by the plane's departure from the delivery center, the number 9 in the call sign which I interpreted as Qatar's ninth and 7 which I assumed was its seventh flight. Too many assumptions I guess, I apologize.

And unless Qatar's Al Baker wants to get into the fish hubbing business and thus testing the fish carrying capabilities of the A350 there is no reason why a QR A350 should go astray in KEF.

I would still be interested on who flew from the delivery center to KEF  Wow!

Cheers

Hi everybody.
We are nearly in mid May and 6 A350s have been delivered so far this year. I know there is a significant amount of frames in TLS at various stages of completion, but Airbus are supposed to deliver something like 50 frames this year. To achieve that, they will have to deliver A350s like hot cakes in the morning in the second half of 2016. Is it all because of Zodiac seats and galleys?

That appears to account for a fair bit of it, though there other issues (including missing components) that are impacting the production ramp, as well, according to statements by chief financial officer Harald Wilhelm referenced in this article:

It has been a while since the A380 F-WWOW the flying testbed for the -1000 engine has been airborne. Any news on its initial certification and readiness for the test programme that commences in four months time?

The -900 deliveries and activity appear at a near standstill and must be hugely frustrating to operators after years of detailed planning and preparation. At least Boeing getting aircraft in the skies although some have suggested they too been hit by ongoing supply chain failures.

Airbus must be running out of parking space at TLS and Hamburg with the build up of A350/320neo all waiting for key components and of course unwanted A380 frames! And gather now lost export guarantees funding! Cashflow must be an interesting issue! They really need a break through with positive news soon.

The build up of frames is still nothing compared to the 787's that were parked around in Seattle during the worst of their problems.

Yes this is a big disappointment to Airbus but as you say there are some 787's stored (a BA one for instance) as they have seat supply issues as well.

The input to the FAL still seems to be running to schedule. The rework seems to be coming down as more are parked that at rework stations.

You're right as far as the input to the FAL is concerned. I do hope that the bottleneck between input and output, i.e. deliveries gets sorted out.

MSN 35 (TAM #3) was moved to the delivery centre last night. Customer acceptance flights to begin as early as today with delivery in the next 10 days. GRU-MIA restarts A359 service on May 22nd.

Other activity so far this week. MSN 29 (Cathay #1) very active on the flightline. Last test flight should happen soon. First engine run on MSN 33 (Qatar #11) could happen as early as this week, airplane is now back online after almost a full week offline.
