Quoting AMIKI (Reply 51): Does anybody know why LX55381 (according to FR24) A343 HB-JMG is circling at PUY? Is it Training or maintenance or else? |
Quoting 330lover (Reply 57): Were pax rebooked on other flights, or did they send a replacement aircraft (as HB-JMJ returned to ZRH this morning) ? |
Quoting Paolo92 (Reply 59): Swiss painted CSeries test aircraft will fly into ZRH from DUB this afternoon with some media and all Star Alliance airlines CEOs. |
Quoting LSZH34 (Reply 60): LX7092 is taking off any minute now from ZRH. Delay of approx. 15 hours and 12 flight hours to go. Very unfortunate if passengers onboard. |

Apparently, LX will have to drop 11 out of it's present 41 routes and this doesn't help by 2018, LX will have to pull out of GVA completely ( probably except for the JFK run and feeder flights to ZRH). Seems there is a plan to operate some of the cancelled European routes by Eurowings as from 2018.
GVA is well used to this treatment after 1996 ( Swissair ) and LX a first time after it was taken over by LH. Well, I guess Easyjet will be laughing all the way to the bank...
xorrygva wrote:The idea of LX was not to establish a 2nd hub but simply to gain market share in Switzerland. LX is not growing in ZRH and will have limited opportunities in the future. GVA was seen as an alternative growth opportunity.
LX is now better perceived in Romandie but the current product is very badly planned. Nobody understand the choice of destinations and the schedule. With C-Series and a properly planning LX could profitable in GVA. Let's replace the existing planes, fire the GVA management and get a proper scheduler in GVA. It will be fine in 2 years for sure. So many other airlines can do it, why not LX
