The AirAsia group currently operates over 170 A320's. Some of the aircraft that are currently on order will end up being leased out by AirAsia's leasing arm, Asia Aviation Capital

The AirAsia Group is much larger than 80 aircraft, someone hasn't done his homework! :)

I wonder what will happen with the Iran deals now as Donald Trump will become the 45th US president.
Trump has been very critical to the Obama administration deals with Iran that opens up for the softening of the sanctions.

It doesn't matter how fast the order is signed. Even if the orders where already firm they would not able to deliver the planes when the nuclear deal is off and no export licences are given to Boeing or Airbus by the Trump administration at the moment of the actual delivery.

Not sure if this has been posted yet.

http://www.rolls-royce.com/media/press- ... thern.aspx

There's a story here. The first 14 A330s for China Southern had RR.

Then they switched to PW. To date, 23 A330s with PW have been delivered and I believe there are three more in production.

But China Southern ordered 10 more just over a year ago (or were assigned 10 of the larger order for "China") and it looks as if they are reverting to RR.

Been a good couple of weeks for the 787 (although it is not immediately clear to me if the 3 Uzbekistan 789s mentioned in reply 301 will be new orders or from a lessor).

Asghar Fakhrieh Kashan, Deputy Minister Roads and Urban Development, announced today that Iran Air’s deal with Airbus is completed and is only needed to be signed.

http://www.aviationiran.com/2016/11/22/ ... signature/

Regarding the results of the negotiations with Airbus, Kashan said that a deal of 112 aircraft has been completed and ready to be signed. According to the primary deal, the aircraft are delivered as per a long-term leasing plan. Iran Air, Airbus and a foreign leasing company have reportedly agreed to finance 77 of the Airbus aircraft.

Many options remain for the 35 unfunded aircraft. Securing financial support for them will be easily done, Kashan hinted.

And an export licence has been granted.

Airbus Group SE has received U.S. government backing for the export of more than 100 jetliners to Iran, despite a move by U.S. lawmakers to curb such transactions.

The export license was granted on Tuesday by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control, an arm of the Treasury Department, and clears Airbus to deliver more than $20 billion in jets to Iran Air, the Islamic Republic’s flag carrier, in coming years.

Not a huge surprise, but FJ has ordered the MAX8. No indication of numbers from this tweet, but they currently operate 4 738s and 1 73G.

And I hereby declare the 'best looking 737MAX' competition has ended with FJ victory :)

You mean will be cancelled, For it may take a long time to legaly cancel the order in such an event. Look at the Kingfisher order. It is not going to happen this year.

Yes, TransAsia even has not yet has their License revoked yet, if it was revoked than the order will be gone.

We'll probably have to wait longer. Airbus themself cannot cancelled the order, withouth having to pay the prepayments back (then to TransAsia's creditors). So untill the order is cancelled, either by the court or creditors, the order will remain in Airbus' books

The orders will all be new, but it looks like some of the airframes are going to be already-completed NTUs from other customers that are available for re-sale.
