Looks like that Lion Air MAX 9 has been towed away.

The flight has been postponed for Monday departure . Yet to find out the reason though

It's clearly a MAX 9, it says it on the fuselage and it has the extra door behind the wing. Plus the registration is N739EX...

Sounds like it's a multiple vendor part and maybe only a specific part or batch of parts -- so it doesn't sound like it will be a big holdup -- a quick inspection and back to normal, possibly

I don't expect it to be a huge issue. With their track record, GE has earned the benefit of the doubt. For one thing, it looks like they discovered the problem before a catastrophic failure happened and they are being proactive in solving the problem.

Of course, that opinion may change as more details come out, but my guess is that this gets fixed fast.

And how serious it is, exactly? Does it have a potential to be a catastrophic one, or just a minor flaw only needing more frequent inspection?

No inspections should be necessary as it's just replacing a known/suspected bad part with a known good part.

According to this news article (in Dutch) it has been delivered.

Looks like their standard airshow routine - nice video. The MAX 9 looks way better with the new engines than the NG did.

So it seems 9M-LRC has been assigned to the KUL-DAC route for now but 9M-LRD hasn't flown a commercial flight since delivery. Is it being refitted in KUL?

Interesting that Norwegian will use weight restricted 737-800s to launch its new transatlantic flights:

Norwegian was set to launch new transatlantic flights to Hartford, Newburgh Stewart and Providence with the 737 Max on 15 June. It plans to launch those flights with 737-800s restricted to just 150 seats instead of their 189-seat capacity, said chief commercial officer Thomas Ramdahl in an interview earlier this week.

Looks like the ramps at RNT are getting awfully crowded.
but I suppose there's not a whole lot of extra ramp space at BFI either.

Actually there's plenty of room at BFI. Just saw 2 SWA Max's and about 4 NG's parked across the street where they initially built 737's. They could probably put 30+/- airplanes there. Also the flight line is being extended to the south for the increased rates that are coming -- should be ready soon.

It is used for ground training - maintenance training - crew training for all Lion Air Group.

Also engines were leased from Boeing for the delivery flight. New engines (inspected ones) arrived two days ago .

Does not appear to be, but it was doing such testing last July so I imagine it's just a matter of paperwork at this point.

So it was a "pro forma" delivery, in reality a delivery of a "glider". Engine trouble a bit more serious than advertised?

9M-LRC seems to be rather active, 6 flights today.
