SunExpress Flying MUC-ADB At 25,000?

Thu Oct 08, 2015 1:51 pm

Hi All,

I've seen this a few times when aircraft will fly at a much lower altitude than is usual for a 2 hour flight...

Was wondering if anyone could shed any light on why this might be?

If it's a 737 it's possible that they mel'd an A/C pack...IIRC the max dispatch altitude for a 738 with one pack inop is FL250.

Interesting, does it happen often?

I've seen a few planes do it, not just 737's.

The other day we had an E-et leaving AMS with issues with passenger oxygen supply. Extra fuel was loaded so they could fly at a lower altitude, also somewhere below 30000. Better then cancelling a whole flight I suppose.
