Looking for your (everyone who follows the neo) opinion.

I think it's time to stop logging the A320neo with P&W engines, they're not flying as much anymore and the flying that remains can be categorized as "Further Development"
It has been certified for about 3.5 months now and today the second operator takes delivery of their aircraft.

I think what remains are some ETOPS trials and maybe some validation flights when the engine fix is finalized.

But again, also looking for your opinion

Thanks. It's clear to me the A321neo with PW is going to be the most photogenic of the family. The biggest fans on the longest family member just looks right to me. However, to my eyes the shots from the rear shows how much better the a/c could be with a bigger wing that could hold more fuel and develop more lift with less drag. I'd love to see an A322 with an all-new CFRP wing.

Airbus has said some of the flying is not engine dependent and perhaps not even dependent on it being a A319,320 or 321. So I would keep logging all frames until all are certified. Especially as MSN6101 was to replace MSN1 as the standard development frame, all others are supposed to be sold, so we should see them to stop flying and being refurbished.

I apologize if I am wrong, but to my knowledge, . PW1135G-JM engine has not been certified yet. At least I haven´t seen it in any of the publicly available certification sheets.
This, of course, does not mean that this type of engine could not be installed already on the test aircraft A321-271n, MSN 6673, reg. D-AVXA...

These are the engines aimed for the family of the . A320neo aircrafts, and that were certified till now...

. . . .

That is driving me nuts! Any source of mine that would know is out of communication right now. Sigh...

I'm waiting on range confirmation. Only the increase to 3,700nm for all NEOs. That is a good sign...

FWIW, I have zero new information on the LEAP. That probably means one of the fuel burn fixes worked as planned. I believe the slightly late EIS is to accommodate the 2nd fix.

I believe QR has overexpanded so I think they are finding excuses to delay aircraft.

We'll know the Pratt NEOs are good once deliveries hit stride as in 6E accepting multiple every month and at least one other airline accepting multiple per month.

I am glad You do. Thank You, lightsaber. Honestly, it took me incomparably more time and effort to summarize all the A380s in the way I did the other day in the thread ´A380 Production Thread Part 23´, than to sum up those few A320neos…

I expected so many more by now...

… and who of us could have predicted, just six months ago, that, at this moment, we will have so few delivered A320neo aircrafts, but such appearances are an integral part of the life. The things do not always go in the way we have imagined, and the beginnings, very often, can be very painful and heavy. In the recent years, at least concerning the civil aviation, it has become almost a regular occurrence. A very innovative and sometimes insufficiently researched technologies and technical solutions are introduced in the production processes, resulting by some unexpectedly bad occurrences in the regular use, requiring further re-designing, reconstructions and changes in the manufacturing and the materials, and all that take lot of time and financial resources. Is it even necessary to mention under how big, almost unbearable, pressure it has to be done? After all, in all those factories work human beings who have their lives, personal concerns and problems, and for that, mostly, nobody cares ...

Nice regards

RE: Airbus A320NEO Production Thread - Part 10

Quoting lightsaber (Reply 181):
I believe QR has overexpanded so I think they are finding excuses to delay aircraft.

We'll know the Pratt NEOs are good once deliveries hit stride as in 6E accepting multiple every month and at least one other airline accepting multiple per month.

Qatar is starting an airline in Saudi Arabia:

but it seems to be delayed because of licence issues, some info here:
http://dohanews.co/official-qatars-a...ys-to-launch-in-saudi-by-year-end/

They have already taken delivery of A320s in the Al Maha livery. I flew a Qatar flight DOH-AUH this Christmas and it used an A320 in Al Maha livery. Took the flight a few weeks ago too. Still operated by an Al Maha aircraft. So I guess they have surplus A320s because of this.
Could it be part of the reason for delaying the A320NEO deliveries?

Edit: A thread from almost 18 month ago showing a plane already built: First A320 For Al Maha Airways Spotted (by KarelXWB Oct 29 2014 in Civil Aviation)
