Suppose this will be the first Airbus delivered in Alaska livery?

IIRC, the other white jet will be the SF Giants special paint scheme

I was wondering when HA would see their 2nd A321. I would estimate about 3 weeks to EIS.

Comment from Bregier confirming P&W engine fixes are done: “The technical problems on the new A320 engines are now solved. So we’re hopeful production will ramp up as expected in 2018.”

There is definitely a ramp up in neo activity. It's approx an 80neo/20ceo split at present on the line and has been for the past 3-4 weeks. Also, a 50/50 split between A320/A321.

Well, that took a while. Now Airbus can enjoy the cash inflow that A320NEO was supposed to bring in.

Time to wish A330NEO an incident-free ramp up.

How did you count? Recent first flights or deliveries?
If we look at the MSNs they are working on at this moment: 7901 to 8000 (100 aircraft), 42 of these are or will be NEO's, the rest are still CEO's including one 320 for Peach (only short haul flights) even without sharklets and 3 A-319 CEO's. Of course the percentage of the NEO will go up every quarter but I think 80% is just a coincidence or because the NEO's loiter along longer at the TLS and XFW factories waiting for engines.

The point is, there are a lot of neo frames ready but waiting for engines. A batch of engine arrives and of they go for testflights and deliveries. There have been a lot of first flights the last weeks. What bothers me is, that the number of stored P&W frames are decreasing, while the number of stored LEAP frames are increasing. The flow of LEAP engines has also not kept up with the production of frames.

I assume that the number of neo frames delivered in December will only depend on the number of engines being supplied.

Makes perfect sense in that case. He's probably working on MSN 8200-8300 already and I expect a quick further increase in NEO production as the CEO orderbook is drying up.

Kazakhstan's Air Astana to lease three A320neo from SMBC
https://www.ch-aviation.com/portal/news ... -from-smbc

Air Astana (KC, Astana) has increased its A320neo lease portfolio following the signing of an agreement with SMBC Aviation Capital for three aircraft of the type. According to the Ireland-based lessor, the Pratt & Whitney-powered twinjets are sourced from its Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) order book and are slated for delivery in the last quarter of 2019 and the first quarter of 2020.

Earlier this year, the Kazakh carrier said it would grow its A320neo fleet to at least seventeen aircraft by 2020 including six A320neo, seven A321neo and four A321neoLR types. All aircraft will be acquired on an operating lease basis.

Air Astana plans to deploy the A320neo and A321neo on domestic and medium-haul routes while the A321neo(LR) has the capability of operating long-haul services from Almaty and Astana to destinations in Asia and Europe. In addition to boosting frequencies on existing routes, the aircraft will also be deployed on new services to the CIS and South Asia.

Air Astana currently operates a single A320neo and has deferred deliveries for other aircraft pending a longterm solution to Pratt & Whitney's PW1100G teething problems.

Two questions:
Is Mobile FAL already at rate 4, or when is it planned to be reached?
Given the Indigo partners (430x A32xNEO (-146 WIZZ)MoU) and Delta 100 A321NEO (+100 option); is there enough (N&Z)Amerika demand to ramp to rate 8?
I checked the Airbus O&D excel from Nov. 2017;
- North American backlog is: 122x CEO & 345x NEO (all A32x)
All combined a total of 851x A32x. Assuming a 8year backlog/production at rate 8 = 768 A320's
So I think a Mobile FAL rate increase to 8/month is justified.

What additional facilities would be required for A32x rate 8 and CS rate 6? (CS FAL)
- 2 additional painting halls (3 total)?
- 2th Gauging hangar and Flight-line hangar ?
more?

Possibly Airbus could ship the sub-assemblies for Mobile FAL from Hamburg to Mobile, and use the return voyage to ship GTF's to Hamburg FAL. Could one RoRo ship do this job, or are two or more ships required?

Stored P&W frames seem to be down to 30 from nearly 45, but stored or undelivered LEAP frames are nearing 20.

Today Air Lease Corporation (NYSE: AL) (ALC) announced that Azores Airlines SATA International (Portugal) received its first new Airbus A321neo aircraft. This aircraft is the first of six CFM Leap 1A engine-powered A321neos to be delivered to Azores Airlines from ALC’s order book with Airbus.
