I am missing the roo on the engine, a simple addition that made the livery look less bland.

That no roo on the engine thing REALLY annoys me. I hope they will put them on their current fleet when they repaint like the a380.

I bought a Gemini Jets 1:200 QF B789 2-3 months ago and thought they made a mistake
on the model when I saw no 'Roos on the engine nacelles.

Sadly, they were correct.

No in comparison to other Boeing widebodies the 747 took 16 years to deliver 600, the 767 12 years for 600 frames and the 777 11 years for 600 frames

Also FWIW Boeing has already delivered 100 787's this year

They are being built at two locations, thus speeding up the build process. But impressive nevertheless!

Lately 787s powered by RR are being rolled out from final assembly in 40-26 hangar without engines, is it due to the change to the newer standard Trent 1000 TEN and its slower production ramp up ?

Could just be inventory control. Airlines prefer the engines to arrive as late as possible since they don't have to pay for them until delivery. There have also been incidents of engines being damaged while stored at the FAL awaiting installation so RR and GE might want to wait, as well, until the airframe is ready for mating.
