On the three displayed 787 prototypes, I understand that Boeing solicited interest from museums.
It's worth remembering that it would be virtually impossible to move LN 5 anywhere else. For LN 1-3, which were complete, Boeing moved the aircraft to their new homes by doing systems checks, strapping on some working engines, and getting a ferry permit. LN 5 is not anywhere remotely close to a flyable state, and it would cost many millions to get it there. A 787 is too big to move in one piece on the ground.
If someone else wants another display 787, LN 4 would be much easier to use for that purpose.
