Seems like Abu Dhabi´s 748BBJ is being transferred to Morocco. I wonder why, so short after delivery to the original customer.

Is this the one where the Prince died? If so, IIRC, it's been for sale ever since it got delivered?

Morocco got 744 from Abu Dhabi previously, now this 748i is another one i believe.
The prince who died was Sultan bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, he passed away on 2011. That is still up for sale as a green airplane.

In Portuguese too. And it's not a new word: it does exist in our language.

Nope. Still only the 2 747-8Fs. AFAIK only the 777Fs is a add-on.
There MIGHT be a third 747-8F though.

The good news is that there will shortly be only one white tail in Boeing inventory. The clouds on the balance sheet are clearing up. So hopefully we will see some new cargo replacement orders soon.

That's not what this Boeing press release (issued half an hour ago) says:

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases ... 25361.html

It announces a top-up order for 2 additional 747-8F and 4 additional 777-300ER.

Hmm, I just followed the link and the 2nd sentence says "The orders were previously unidentified on Boeing's Orders & Deliveries website."....

The way I read it, all of the orders being mentioned were made earlier and not identified, and all that is happening today is the customer is being identified (along with the first delivery, of course)...

There are no white tails left. L/N 1495 is going to Qatar Amiri Flight and L/N 1435 will be used as the USAF modification testbed.

No where does it say "additional". It just says they were changed from "Unidentified" to the customer.

They're using 1435 because it remains unsold. Hopefully someone will still be willing to pick it up after the testbed work is done. Engine manufacturer perhaps?

Depending on the amount of rework that may need to be done of all the modifications, may be unlikely that it will be sold to any airline or lessee. My guess is, that it too might be sold to the USAF or kept as a engine testbed. Either by Boeing or as you say, a engine manufacturer.

I would not be surprised if it ends up being sold to the USAF - we heard for some time early on that VC-X would be a three-frame deal to ensure there were always two frames available during maintenance periods on the fleet.

Always liked the look of the freighter version.Hope there are many orders to come. But On the present manufacturing schedule what year is the last year scheduled for manufacturing. Is that date (or similar) in anyway relevant to new product manufacturing such as the 777x or the potential 797?

Officially no info will be provided by Boeing.
Leeham gives some info about the future sale/lease of 747-8 freighters in the following article. Most probably (also seen the recent recovery of the cargomarket and the sale of the last currently availble white tail) Boeing will produce 4-5 white tails to cater for future cargo demand.

No, L/N 1495, A7-HHF will probably not been painted in the near future, because the aircraft will be first ferried in her present white livery to a VIP cabin outfitting facility.
The exact outfitting facilty is not known (up to now?), the other two Qatar Amiri 747-8I/BBJ aircraft have been outfitted by Lufthansa Technik, Hamburg (L/N1439, A7-HHE) and AMAC, Basel (L/N1449,A7-HBJ)
After the aircraft has been outfitted (1,5 - 2 years?) the aircraft will be painted.

The next 747-8 out of paint will be L/N 1437, A7-GBA, presently at the paint facility at Portland.

L/N 1544, N606UP will emerge from the FAL somewhere in the next week(s), because the scheduled delivery is end November

Azerbaijan to purchase six more Boeing aircraft (incl. two more 747-8F's) by the end of 2017.

According Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) President Jahangir Asgarov at the 7th Caspian Air Cargo Summit in Baku on October 10, AZAL plans to order four 787 aircraft

He also added that two more Boeing 747-8 F aircraft will be acquired for the Silk Way Airlines company.

A shame the 748-F's won't be in Azerbaijan's livery - that would be one stunning-looking aircraft!

Boeing Capital Corporation has sold an 747-8 (currently on lease to AirBridgeCargo) to GECAS.

GECAS has acquired a 747-8 freighter (MSN 63378) from Boeing Capital Corporation and will continue the existing aircraft lease with AirBridgeCargo. This transaction expands GECAS’ decade-long relationship with the airline, who operate an all-747 fleet including two 747-400ERFs from GECAS.

This financial deal confirms that the recent cargo market upswing is now beijng recognized by one of the largest lessors and potential new orders may emerge for more 747-8 freighters.

This aircraft, leased to ABC, is the first 747-8F in the GECAS portofolio after the cancellation in September 2014 of the GECAS order for two 747-8F aircraft (ordered in 2011).

Also Boeing Capital Corporation (BBC) is now in a better position to finance some additional white tail freighters.

4 new 747-8F orders and the recent GECAS deal show this program continuing to make its way forward.
