The -1000 got a wing twist tweak that will be backported to the 900 (IMU).
My understanding is that the overweight "Batch 1/2" frames did not encroach on performance guarantees.
Performance data and airframe reserves seem to have lead to the ULR being a direct -900 derivative
instead of a shrink -1000.
Nothing available for leveraging media rah rah on performance shortfalls.

U-Turn AlBaker has to resort to renege on minor carpeting issues.

My guess: the A350 is well above projected data but nobody feels about writing that up.

Singapore seems to be using it successfully on the San Francisco route which is almost 17 hours on the homebound leg. It must be cost effectove at that range with not too much of a payload restriction or they would use the previous metal.

It would be really nice if both Airbus, RR and carriers gave credit to everyone involved in meeting or as implied exceeded the design parameters. Certainly observing reliability and punctuatality looks pretty good and as stated SQ use of the aircraft on Pacific and more recently Atlantic seems to be meeting performance requirements. Also reading EASA advisory and AD for both the airframe and powerplants to date free of major issues ....in fact very light relative to some other new types! I wonder what feedback carriers are getting from passengers .....are they aware of flying in a given aircraft type or in the main indifferent?

I think this might fit in here quite well,

Lufthansa did operate their first A350 passenger flight yesterday from Munich to Frankfurt and back and I was lucky enough to be onboard and even in Business class,
I wrote a trip report for those interested:

of Lufthansa & it`s customers. Thanks for sharing your record of a special day......some great shots there.

Can anyone confirm/refute the rumour of Qatar leasing some of the LATAM A359s? I know LATAM's schedule shows only 1 A359 route for most of this year. Now Qatar's timetable is playing games. Effective Mar 1, QR is adding A359 to CDG and the second FRA but is only due to receive 1 new A359 this month. I know QR has been dragging out CDG A359 service for some months now so perhaps that will happen again but LATAM and Qatar's timetables seem to be merging towards to a lease as rumoured.
Thanks

After doing three round trips from Munich to Delhi since friday, it seems that a 340-600 was subd-in today causing a 4 hour delay. Can anyone shed some light on this?

So it looks like the Qatar lease of 4x A359s from LATAM Brazil is happening. They have been allocated regs A7-AMA/D with delivery dates between March 1st and May 1st. Apparently they will fly mainly to MUC and MAD.

Which of the JJ A350s will be going to QR?

Does anyone know if these are short term leases, and will the aircraft be repainted and have an interior reconfiguration to meet QR spec?

Maybe someone can shed some light on this for me. TLS is flooded with A359's for QR at the moment, and they seem to be very slow and reluctant to take delivery. Yet for some reason they lease 4 A359's from LATAM with delivery between March 1 and May 1? If they need 4 more A350 "short term", why don't they just take the ones they ordered directly from Airbus a bit faster?

It is difficult to say, QR has in the past from A&B has not accepted new aircraft because they did not have enough space at the old airport for them, and they did not have the crew to fly them. It might also mean their A340-600 and 77L/77W fleet is going faster than expected, The A350-900s can replace the 77L, and their A350-1000s can replace the A340-600/77W with much lower operating costs.

An interior reconfiguration is impossible on such short notice. Maybe its just a wet lease.

One reason for the slow deliveries of the A350 to Qatar and now perhaps wet lease of those four Latam frames, could be crew shortage.

I don't think the 77W fleet is going anywhere. Most of their existing 77Ws are very young, and they just ordered 10 more not too long ago. They are also in the process of reconfiguring them to 10 abreast, which would seem to indicate they intend to hold on to them for a least a little while yet.

Do aircraft for wet lease usually get a new registration in the new country? As these will be A7-AMx, and not PR-XTx. I had always thought that most of the time, wet leased aircraft keep their original registration.

I heard QR want to wait until 8th March when new Super Business seats will be revealed at ITB Berlin Travel Trade Show. These seats will be patented and installed into A359 fleet, starting A7-ALN. It would save QR lots of money for not reconfiguring current B/E Super Diamond seats into new Super Business seats in the future. Hence TLS is flooded with QR A359. The first thirteen A359 will be reconfigured once the rest of A359 / A3510 joins QR fleet.

A7-ALN is currently at the Toulouse delivery centre, are you sure it is equipped with the new J seat?

I don't speak Portuguese, was that article saying PR-XTG is going to Doha tomorrow? What kind of work would QR need to do before it's ready for service with QR?

FR24 is obviously confused, given it says the flight is on A333. Flightaware, on the other hand, says you're spot on with A7-AMA (ex PR-XTG) operating.

I believe I read somewhere in one of these threads that it was delivered without the J cabin installed (for whatever reason), and perhaps it isn't ready for EIS yet.
