Then air fleets is wrong !!

Maybe und wouldn't be the first time.

But:
In the financial statement of 2016 (published in may 2017) Air Berlin is talking about a new fleet-size of 17 A332's (14 in 2016). The three "new" are Ex-Evelop (1) and Ex-TAM (2). The last entered service end of may. The german magazine airliners.de wrote these days, they have inside information, that the number will grow to 22 (till 2019). Therefore I thought, this frame maybe the first for this batch (on the other hand, all AB-332s are PW-powered, MSN 1508 is RR-powered).

As KarelXWB mentioned in another thread, Air Berlin has ordered 339 neos. As far as I know two via Air Leas Corp. They seem to be for fleet renewal (the oldest two AB 332s are from 1999 and 2000) and not fleet-upsizing.

We will see.

I'm not saying this frame won't end up with Air Berlin but it can't be 'on order' as it is a used frame that is now in storage.

Hi KarelXWB, I noticed that this particular bird is still in storage. It was flown to Tianjin. Could it be first A330 to be completed with cabin fit at TSN plant?

AFAIK MSN 1805 will be the first A330 to be outfitted in TSN. It will carry a Chinese test registration (B-005A).

Tianjin assembly workers are currently undergoing training in Toulouse. I have no further into on B-8982.

For the moment no further PW4000 A330s have been allocated to the production line.

And it is more than three years since an airline (China Southern) ordered A330s with PW. Though I suppose some of the orders placed by leasing companies could be PW.

Shouldn't be much of a problem to get PW4000s if desired since Pratt won the KC-46 contract and will have a steady stream of orders to fill.

They have two A330-200s on order but they might be used by LEVEL.

The MSNs are 1835 and 1854 which should be 1Q18 and 2Q18 respectively.

The availability isn't the problem. It's the demand that seems to be missing.

Two A330s delivered this year (with no more on order), four last year, seven in 2015, eight in 2014 and ten in 2013. Deliveries have dwindled down to nothing and no-one is ordering more.

PW snapped up lots of the early A330 customers such as Thai, Malaysia, Korean, US Airways, Northwest, TAM, Vietnam and others but then their popularity waned. If this is the last A330 with PW it will be 245 and out. That gives them an 18% share of the A330 programme. Not, I'm sure, what they had in mind twenty years ago. That's half the market share they enjoyed on the A300/A310.

More parts for the Beluga XL are being delivered:

Aciturri has delivered to the Assembly Line of Airbus in Toulouse the first set of auxiliary vertical stabilizers and the extension of the horizontal stabilizer box (HTP) of the future BelugaXL.

A work team of the company will also move, in the next few weeks, to the facilities in the city to complete the integration on the HTP.

The delivery is part of the project with Airbus for the design and manufacturing of the work package 230 of BelugaXL, the super transporter that Airbus use to transport aircraft mains components between its European production facilities.

Just the fact that the Beluga and Beluga XL can fly on 2 engines is quite impressive. Although, wings and fuselage sections are probably not that heavy.

Not the same engine on the A330 and the 767. The 767 has the PW4000-94 and the A330 the PW4000-100. -94 and -100 denoting the fan size.

Unless they can pick up some more frames that were built for other airlines they won't be getting any A330s until the second half of 2018. They don't have any frames in the production list with MSNs assigned.

Geoff

Thanks for the info   Now considering this backlog for the A330s dose this apply to their 321s and 320s oerders too, neo and ceo?
I Doubt if we see anymore in 2017.
I know that the A35K wont be delivered until 2019, assuming the orders goes trough without any problem from the Trump/US admin.

Not only regional models. There are about 115 of all versions of A330ceo still to be delivered and there are still orders coming in. The last order was for A330-200. The only regional models recently delivered were for Saudia.

They are building themselves quite the airline.

China Eastern to add 191 jets by end of 2019 says:

The SkyTeam carrier specifies that it will add 50 aircraft in the second half of 2017, comprising 30 Boeing 737s, 15 Airbus A320-family jets, four A330s and a single 777. During the same period, it will also retire six aircraft.

Thereafter, in 2018, it will add 67 aircraft: 37 737s, 16 A320-family jets, eight A330s, four 787s and two A350s. It will meanwhile retire 15 aircraft (10 A330s, four 767s and one 737).

In 2019, the airline will further pick up its pace and add 74 jets: 38 737s, 25 A320-family jets, six 787s and five A350s. There are no plans to retire any aircraft that year
