The first 2 A330s that will be outfitted in Tianjin will be MSN 1805 and 1816. Planes will have a Chinese test registration (B-005A and B-005C respectively).

Airbus sends a few A330s to Rome for paint, because the paint hangars in TLS, XFW and CHR are occupied. So far MSN 1780 and 1784 have been painted in Rome.

Airbus will put a new livery on the A330 based Beluga XL:

http://www.airbus.com/newsevents/news-e ... axls-face/

With the first of five next-generation oversize cargo airlifters slated to enter service in 2019, Airbus asked its employees to select how the A330 Family-based BelugaXL should appear to the world. “The six designs we proposed for consideration by employees respected our brand identity while running from the conventional to the unconventional, even adding a touch of fun,” explained Tim Orr, Airbus’ Head of Branding.

Garnering more than 40 per cent of the employees’ vote, the “Smiling BelugaXL” entry – complete with beluga whale-inspired eyes and a happy grin easily won this competition.

Iberia ordered another A330:

Order totals for the twin-aisle A350 XWB increased with an undisclosed customer’s acquisition of 10 A350-900s. An A330-200 was ordered by Iberia to further increase this carrier’s inventory of Airbus-built widebody jetliners.

Transportation: not enough backlog. To justify a ramp Airbus must guarantee the vendors 2018 for the ramp and 2019 thru 2021 or pay a penalty. At this time they only have enough orders to keep current production through 2019 per your link. That is a problem...

Unfortunately, due to the global widebody surplus, the A330NEO is arriving to late to have it's easier availability play a role. For as customers differ 787 orders, Boeing is either shifting other airline slots or marketing the early slots.

Ironically, once the A350 production ramps and reduces the backlog enough for short term slots, the A330NEO will have it tougher. Time for a MTOW increase and a NEO freighter option.

The combined thing (NEO & MTOW) should provide a capable MRTT too.

I wonder if the increased performance will make feasible a A333F NEO.

The 330F was mostly payload-range restricted so it made little sense to do an A330-300F.

But specs have changed ; 15% better sfc/range, and significant improved 251t MTOW could make the extra volume worth it ,not only for package movers[/quote]

Any idea why there's a stopover in Dubai? Especially on a delivery flight it should make TLS-MNL nonstop easy?

Edit: Just a wild guess but maybe it's a leased aircraft and the leasing company is based in UAE and requires it to be flown there first?
