Former testbed MSN 4, donated to Musée de l'Air Paris in early 2017, got its APU permanently removed.

The APU becomes a spare part; the plane itself is being prepared to enter the museum.

At least one of four engines of former testbed MSN 4 (now donated to Musée de l'Air Paris) has been removed.

See https://twitter.com/MuseeAirEspace/stat ... 8667331584

All four engines will be returned to EA. The plane will join the museum without engines.

I really hope so. They should ask AF just around the corner. I know they have at least one, well, at least the largest part of it

A little trip down memory lane:

MSN 167 entered final assembly in early 2014.

Image

Aircraft emerged from final assembly around mid-2014. Due to the collapse of Skymark Airlines around the same time, MSN 167 never got its engines fitted.

Skymark A380-841 msn 167 by dn280tls, on Flickr

Later, in early 2015, the plane was put into long-term storage.

Another year passed by and EK in 2016 agreed to take both Skymark NTU A380s. So MSN 167 was pulled out of storage around mid-2016.

Aircraft was seen undergoing rework in early 2017, bringing it up to EK standard. The storage coat was removed.

Eventually MSN 167 re-emerged from final assembly in September 2017. Delivery due in 2018.

Evening all. Long time follower posting for the first time.

Slash787 & hayzell777 - the ex-Sky a/c have not only had cabin work but also been updated with several modifications which were incorporated into production build after they were built, so I am told. This will make them the same standard as Emirates current deliveries.

EK will celebrate the 100th A380 in HAM & DWC or DXB.

I think one of the following A380s will get the new Expo 2020 livery to promote the event which EK sponsoring with others.

When Emirates agreed to take the ex-Sky a/c it was agreed to bring them to the current standard, so in addition to cabin and other customer-specifics a working party from the UK embodied around 20 or so modifications to the wings, which had been introduced after the a/c were first produced. All partners had working parties for their own areas of responsibility.
Mods are not introduced on A380 in a batch, but individually under 'continuous development'.
A second working party is currently embodying some more mods agreed with the customer late last year, this is to ensure that they will not need to schedule time for the a/c to add the mods later, as service bulletins.

No. The composite used on the A380 on the fuselage for the panels is GLARE, glass reinforced aluminium, a fiber metal laminate. The frame including the door frame is aluminium with the locking studs from titanium.

According to Airbus' latest order & delivery update, MSN 243 SQ #20 was contractually delivered to the airline on October 6.

The aircraft however won't enter service until December this year.

When will the new Luxury Suites being introduced in December start being installed on SIA's next deliveries? I assume that MSN 243 9V-SKU doesn't have them, but there are three more due for delivery, MSN 247 9V-SKV, MSN 251 9V-SKW and MSN 253 9V-SKY. Perhaps these will have them?
