AA B777-200 yet??????

I live in ORD and I am almost positive I saw an American Airlines B777 fly right above me. But I thought they don't get them till 1999, can someone clarify this for me? Thanks.

I think you proably saw a 767 as they look similer but you might be right and they might be training crews in them!

Who knows? Boeing may have decided to deliver their B777 a few months earlier. Singapore Airlines was not supposed to get their B773 till Dec 98 but they have already got one. (Or at least I thought)

I don't think that AA will be getting theirs until next year (unless the scedule has changed). But I live in Chicago (south 57th) and have sometimes confused UA 767s for 777s when they fly overhead. They do look very similar at some angles from far away.

Are you sure it was an AA 777?
I don't think so. You must have confused with a 767. I know AA doesn't have the 777 yet.
2 distinctive features to recognize a 777 over a 767:
6-wheel landing gears
screwdriver tail

I'm sure that what you saw was a 767.
American flies them a lot out of O'Hare.
Does that clarify what you saw?

It may of been a 767 but i'm not positive. It was around 5:00 so it was a little dark. But there certainly is a possiblity it was a 767. Thanks..
