I don't see how one arrives at that very sweeping conclusion. Why CVG? Because it's centrally located (relative to U.S. population distribution) and has very ample surplus capacity. (It certainly isn't about to see 600+ daily Delta flights again.) It can be just as simple as that.

...all are true , but DHL are already offering $500 USD for job referrals from current employees , why create an even bigger demand for human capital and drive up wages in a competitive environment just because CVG is " centrally located " ? So Amazon offers a $1000 bounty - there's more to it than that , and time will prove this suspicion correct I think.

It's stunning. It's better than 99% of commercial liveries out there. It's on par with the likes of Air Tahiti Nui. Airlines should take note - You can have some color and it still be classy and look good.

From a strategic operations stand point, my perspective is that it makes sense because that means Amazon has their local logistics infrastructure and international logistics infrastructure in one almost seamless operations.
While DHL does not have a significant presence in the US, DHL is technically the biggest global shipping companies.
I see two strategic operational benefits:
1) A centralized unified area for any US goods to be shipped out via DHL to any of the international Amazon warehouses.
2) A centralized unified area for receiving international goods to be delivered to the US by DHL and then distributed through US Based Amazon warehouses via Prime Air
