I guess enough crying finally got them some LHR slots. I'm guessing it cant be no more than 1x daily from BOS and 1x daily from JFK? On A321's nonetheless, why even bother? I cant even imagine how their operations department will handle irrops on 1x daily A321. CDG is a no brainer, AMS, no slots available, probably LIS, MAD, BCN, DUB, what else?

They are beating Neeleman to the punch, and are in the intial stages of starting a Moxy type operation to those cities that have been left behind, but can support limited services to close in airports where people are glad to get the service. OMA, DSM, BOI, FAT, SBA, BIL, BZN, GEG, PSC, XNA,CID, ELP, EUG,IDA, FCA, PVU, MRY, FCA, OKC, RAP, TUL, FSD .

If JetBlue announces LHR with an A321, I can guarantee that they expect to put in a widebody (likely A330) order shortly after determining the route is a success.

Not sure where you think 'crying' got them slots; however, if Delta threw a hissy fit and somehow got 2 LHR slot pairs, I'm sure you'd be waxing poetic over how they managed to finagle extra slots without spending money on them.

It certainly seems like their management is engaging in a very public PR campaign, far more than a normal airline. The goal appears to be to distract from the grim reality: Their operational stats stink, their financial results are just ok in a time of record profits, they face increasing competition, their pay and benefits lag far behind industry competitors causing morale to be quite low among employees. They appear to have a pilot shortage since pilots continue to jump ship to the L3 as soon as they get a job offer.

They don't do save the date for more island flying or new destination into middle of america. Either Europe or something on that level.

They deleted their entire Instagram to give away some airline tickets. I don't have any faith that the airline isn't off the rails at this point.

:checkmark:

I would place my bets on 321LR order + Mint 2.0 announcement. Not sure if specific routes would be announced immediately though.

I would say that BOS-London is the obvious first market, but I would imagine B6 management is closely watching Brexit (which could happen on March 29th). It may be prudent to seek more clarity before jumping into the market.

Would love to see something totally different and unexpected like JFK/BOS-TXL. :hot:

Really. AA reduced ops at JFK to make it an O&D operation and is growing PHL as their hub ops. They don't want JFK as a Hub.

This was a sarcastic joke.

B6 isn’t leaving BOS
AA is not keen on expanding JFK
AA at ORD is a pure lower 48ish plus LHR and CUN. The rest is seasonal or better served by partners. UA has the rest and AA has conceded that (outside of CLT, DFW, LGA, MIA, PHL, and PHX - all AA hubs, AA is a joke at ORD).

A 321LR order 20 years after their original Airbus order? Makes sense.

It was April 20, 1999 when they announced the original Airbus order. However this year April 20th is during Easter weekend and that date is also known for a large school shooting in Colorado.

Oh wow, thanks for the info.

Now the question is which London airport....I doubt they obtained enough slots at LHR to have a competitive schedule to BOS. But they may have something up their sleeve.

Like finally fixing their horrendous on-time stats? Take yesterday, a few flakes fell in the NYC area, a dusting at best, and they wind up having 35% of their entire operation delayed. Europe won't last long for JetBlue if they can't get their planes in the air and to their destination on time.

B6 to Europe will further erode their on time stats. They are so laser focused on getting all their MINT flights out on time that everything else suffers. Now, throw in B6 to Europe and guaranteed those on time stats will suffer even more..

B6 will start a few BS routes to Europe but with B6 having absolutely no brand name in Europe and no JV's, it will be nothing short of a disaster.B6 wants to be 'big boy' airline but it wont happen. United can fix that however with a few strokes of a pen.

I hope it’s europe. We know it won’t be the UK because of brexit but Paris, Dublin or Lisbon could be a great add and mint would be a strong competitor TATL but I’d be interested to see what service will be back down the back. Coke and blue potato chips won’t quite cut it. Will this provide a more appropriate BOB service or be full service or a hybrid?

Lets look at today....5% of B6 operations are already delayed and its not even 7 AM!! I'd like to know what their plan is going to be when their 1x daily flight to LON leaves with nearly half the paying customers missing due to late arriving connections? Will they put them on a DL or an AA flight?

Save the Date

JETBLUE ALL HANDS

Leave it to a.net to blow things out of proportion.
Every corporation I know about has a annual all-hands. We get the same exact "save the date" communication at my company. Every all-hands typically ends up as just the executives patting themselves on the back about financial achievements that no one else cares about and lots of slide presentations full of embellished metrics :)

I really do wonder what the appeal of Europe is aside from the prestige of saying they fly there. The yields aren’t that great, especially against the robust complexity it will add to the operation (and costs).

“All Hands” is a sea going term, they are heading over the pond and have probably revised there order with the long range version of the A321.

Exactly. Northeast USA to Europe has historically been a money pit but there seems to be some level of prestige. Businesses aren't in business for prestige.
