Maybe MAO and UIO? What about the returned slots from MEX from WN?

There is still a ton of room for growth. NK cities that could be highly likely domestic will be BNA/ MKE/ ABQ/ STL/ ROC/ GRR/ SDF

Those market's would fit good and help round out their Network a tad more. But there are plenty of aircraft coming in 2019, so there will be more cities to come!

My wildcard guess will be YVR with 1x or 2x daily to LAS

We keep hearing “soon” at CLT.
Time will tell.

There are still some former FL destinations not already served by NK that NK could add service to such as ABE, BMI, CLT, DAY, DSM, GRR, MDT, HSV, TYS, LEX, MEM, MKE, MLI, PHF, PNS, RDU, ROC, STL, SAT, and SRQ.

Which of these former FL destinations is NK likely to announce this year?

CLT has to happen at some point. Same with SLC.

I think in the near future we could see VPS or SRQ, BNA, STL, CLT, & SLC.

I think there is lots of connecting-the-dots that could be done as well. Spirit seems to be concentrating on adding new cities these days, which I can understand, but I don't like to see them abandoning growth potential at some existing stations -- I'm particularly aware of those in the west.

Maybe with all the incoming new a/c in 2019, we'll see some new or returned service to some of those cities. (Or even a bit less seasonality on some routes.)

I keep pointing to Ohio's Gem City, Dayton, hoping that Spirit will take notice. WN, F9 and G4 all serve CVG, and NK may be tempted to take a look at CVG, but I honestly feel that Spirit has the kind of critical mass that will not only attract business from Dayton, but from metropolitan Cincinnati, too!

“It’s finally starting to pay off,” Piccolo said, adding that SRQ can accept more growth with half the terminal capacity unused and plenty of parking available.

Where might growth come from?

Perhaps by adding Air Canada or Spirit Airlines.

Although Piccolo holds his cards close to the vest, he hopes to have another announcement to make in the next month.

Spirit started flying to Cali-Colombia as of December 20th, so far it seems results (in terms of load factor at least) are very good, of course
we have to wait the official reports from Aeronautica Civil (Colombia´s FAA) to confirm this.

There is no real need for NK to add service to CVG since (a) most of the places that NK would be serving nonstop from CVG are already served nonstop from CVG on either F9 or G4, (b) there are still more nonstop routes that could be added by WN at CVG such as CVG-DAL, CVG-FLL, CVG-RSW, CVG-HOU, CVG-LAS, CVG-MSY, and CVG-TPA, (c) F9 could bring back nonstop service to MIA or FLL from CVG, and (d) there are still a few more nonstop routes such as CVG-BOS, CVG-MYR, and CVG-MSY that could be added by F9 at CVG.

On the other hand, I could see NK possibly adding service to DAY since DAY was served by FL prior to the WN-FL merger and since NK has recently added service to other former FL destinations such as AVL, CAK, CMH, and RIC. DAY is also no longer served by F9 and WN, and NK will likely serve a few destinations that aren't currently served nonstop from DAY if NK enters DAY.

The Dayton Daily News had a story in 2017 which talked about how the airport was talking to B6 and NK. I agree that NK makes a ton of sense.

Yeah. Does midwestindy mean “adding” as in expanding to like SRQ-YUL/YOW or as in “didn’t realize AC already flies to SRQ?

They probably meant to say Westjet.

I think NK will go into SRQ and do the usual DTW & ORD and if advanced bookings look good, go with other cities.

N907NK, a new Airbus A320neo (A20N) is in service as of Feb. 2. Had the chance to fly this bird this morning on the NK214 red eye from LAS to DFW, which according to FR24, was the 25th revenue flight since entering service, and was usually a run covered by an A321. I was surprised how loud the engines were on takeoff compared to the 3M8, but it was also my first experience on NK, which probably added to my nervousness. That said, I was pretty geeked up about flying a relatively new plane and, personal nervousness aside, NK wasn't too bad.

Today starts the highly-anticipated AUS service! It looks like the DTW flight is held back to tomorrow since no aircraft for the early morning departure. While performing dummy bookings it seems that the FLL flights were the only ones going in/out not near full as the other 7.

I am so excited to use these flights. There is a lot more that Spirit can do with Indy though they can fly to Boston, Hartford, Newark or Laguardia, Philly, Baltimore, Charlotte, Raleigh, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Tampa, Ft Myers, Ft Lauderdale, West Palm, New Orleans, Minneap, Kansas City, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Denver, San Diego would be a big hit, Phoenix, LA, Oakland, Portland because there needs to be a nonstop and a complimentary Seattle flight. I see them flying to Cancun, Punta Cana and Montego Bay too. Theres so much potential with Spirit in Minneap too. I really think they should fly to Sacramento, Richmond, Cbus, and Charlotte. Maybe one day Spirit will be the number 2 airline in Indy and Cbus!

Exciting times here in California as NK adds service to BUR as well as SMF, both 3x daily from LAS. These are not just popular routes with O&D travelers but also a great way for folks in these markets to access NK's ULCC network! It's not like any of BUR's 6 existing carriers (AA, AS, B6, DL, UA and WN) offer fares like WN. Wonderful news for those of us that seek to avoid LAX as much as possible!

Well SAT, GRR and SRQ were listed on their site earlier this week, so those seem like safe bets. They always emphasize MSY, FLL, MCO, TPA, RSW and LAS in their earnings calls so that's where most of the growth will likely continue to be. They have also mentioned the desire to expand internationally so I think we'll be seeing more CUN, MBJ, PUJ etc. I'm really hoping for TPA-BOG 2-3x a week.

Spirit did say that they were interested in expanding at constrained airports no?

That’s not an answer to gate capacity. And they haven’t added much lately at MSP, dropping SEA and BOS this summer vs last.

Rumor is NK is coming to SNA in 2020.

I would not be surprised to see NK add service to SNA since NK has recently added service to other California airports such as BUR and SMF.

NK, AA, and WN would also likely add more flights out of SNA if Congress and the California State Legislature passes legislation that would eliminate the slot restrictions and the passenger cap at SNA.

LAS I can see inline with their recent additions in California, but I think SJD is a huge stretch.

AS dropping International from SNA.
The airport shopping around for another airline to add international flights.
Sources say NK taking the Incentives to add SNA.

If NK launches SNA-LAS 3x/day, perhaps DL will shift its 4x/day SNA-LAS E75 service over to fly SNA-SMF instead. Would be a better use of those slots and provide competition for WN on SNA-SMF.

I wonder if NK would be able to make GPT work with the casino and beach traffic. EWR, BWI, MCO, FLL, & LAS all seem like decent options.

MSY is about an hour away with over 20 plus options on NK. GPT only has Sun County as a LCC and it does seasonal flights.

Interesting how they're using the A321 on the DTW-MSP route. Subject to change, but interesting if it sticks.
