Unlike what happened during last Spring Festival, aviation authorities in mainland China and Taiwan have agreed to increase cross-Strait flights for the upcoming 2019 Chinese lunar new year, according to the latest CAAC statement on Wed
Subject to further approval, more than 600 flights have been proposed by airlines from either side to handle peak traffic during lunar Chinese new year——the most important traditional festival to people across the Taiwan Strait for family reunions
The increased flights will happen from Jan 22 through Feb 19, 2019
However, an upper limit has been set on some of the busiest mainland airports regarding the number of extra flights by either side:
