Southwest Airlines Destinations

How does Southwest Airlines have 100 destinations with 740+ Planes?

Well... they fly those 740+ planes to 100 destinations. That's how.

I'm not exactly sure what the question is here...they have the number of planes they feel they need at this time, and the number of destinations that they feel are worthwhile and can be served by said planes.

Your surprise as to Southwest's fleet size and number of destinations is quite common. They have historically attempted to position themselves as the spunky little airline that's a hoot to fly. Actually they are an enormous air carrier that nearly rival the Big 3. Moreover they don't mind at all that you think of them as a low cost carrier while they are anything but.

Count it all up to Southwest providing good, dependable airline service that engenders the flying public's loyalty.

Well it helps that WN connects more of its destinations to each other over routing them through a few airports. Plenty may flow through LAS, BWI, and MDW, but not like AA/DL/UA do
