Laudamotion's first aircraft in revised livery

Sun Oct 28, 2018 1:17 pm

Former Turkish TC-JPC is now painted in Laudamotion's revised livery. Here's the source in Turkish. What do you think about the new livery? I'm also surprised it's their first Airbus in IAE engines compared to existing CFM.

If it's not Boeing, I'm not going!

What is it? White with his name on it. Looks like he wet leased it from another company and slapped his name on it. Brutally boring

Yawn

L on tail, lauda on side of airplane like the old Niki’s airline Lauda air which was sold to Austrian. Livery really looks nice on a320, but to me looks like Ryanair and Niki Lauda provocation to Lufthansa since Austrian bought Lauda air back then. Old Niki is back and it’s going to take back his peace of (Lufthansa)Austrian pie. We will see if Niki is going to make any cent of this deal with Irishman.

I'm not really sure yet, but the new livery are only featured in this A320 plane now while it's existing plane maybe painted in near the future.

No Lufthansa a320’s are getting back. New jets are coming with IAE engines. We will see if they are going to take any Small Planet, Cobalt, Shaheen or even Primera jets. Next a320’s are most probably coming from China.

Austrian bought Lauda Air, Air Berlin bought Niki. Not the same airlines, but both founded by Niki Lauda.

Niki did not go down with Air Berlin and Niki Lauda and some investors bought somethings out of Niki to start LaudaMotion. Niki Lauda made some agreements with LH, that had taken all the Niki frames, a move slightly on the grey side. The frames that LaudaMotion are flying currently, are old Niki frames leased from LH.

He has aleady:

https://www.kleinezeitung.at/wirtschaft ... -das-Sagen

...summary in English:

Ryanair has completed the majority acquisition of Niki's successor Laudamotion. Ryanair now holds 75 percent, with ex-racer Niki Lauda remains a blocking minority of 25 percent, said Laudamotion CEO Andreas Gruber on Wednesday in a press conference with Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary in Vienna.

This is your pilot speaking. Welcome to flight one from here to there. We'll be flying at a height of ten feet, going up to twelve and a half feet if we see anything big. My copilot today is a flask of coffee.

My thoughts exactly. A bit of restraint in graphic design can go a long way. Its uncluttered, easily readable and distinguishable from other european short haul airlines.

Niki Lauda has just out of hospital after a lung transplant.
He has done well to stay in the airline business.

That's a great news, what's his upcoming plan for the airline next?

Not yet. He has invested aprox. 50 million in buying back the airline and has gotten the same amount for the 75% stake from Ryanair. So while on paper he is in the black, he has yet to make any cash from this investment.

What did Ryanair get from this that they couldn’t do themselves?

Maybe they thought they could compete better in the Germanic world with a German/Austrian brand. Also, maybe in such a way they will have a brand that's closer to let's say easyJet than Ryanair.

It looks good.

Is this not a modified Ryanair livery? The curved cheatline looks similar from this distance.

Not the worst thing I have seen in recent liveries. Clean but not very imaginative.

Slots at TXL and DUS. They are effectively buying a part of Air Berlin in their ongoing effort to increase their presence at major airports, trying to get away from their classic "runway with a shed" type of airports out in the country.

Recently flew OE and was a really refreshing experience over FR! Nice reclinable leather seats, well trained and groomed crew, IFE via drop-down screens and best to come, free handluggage (which will stay)!

My son flew OE VIE - STN last Saturday: 1 hour delay.
Back today evening: Almost 2 hours delay. He missed the last public ground transportation to town and had to take a taxi, which cost him approximately half the price of the flight..... :bored:

It somehow has a bit of a retro look which is great. Do we know how many aircraft will be painted in teh new livery?
