Royal Air Maroc Launches Miami in April 2019

Big day for announcements.

Since Royal Air Maroc made the application a few weeks ago, this isn't unexpected, but we now know that it will launch on April 3rd, 2019 and be thrice a week. Not bookable on RAM's website as of yet.

What traffic are they after? Pardon my ignorance but I can’t think of any obvious ties between Morocco and Florida.

Not sure but perhaps they are trying to pick up connecting traffic from the southern European area, Africa and some points in the Middle East.

Yes likely low yielding tourist traffic from south and western Europe, people looking for the cheapest fares.

Rumors of them joining a few years ago. Would be nice to have an African carrier join OneWorld.

Any moves towards partnership with AA? I can't help but to think this might boost some of their flights to MIA especially and also JFK, even with the JetBlue service.
Same with LA, with service to GRU and GIG I can't help but wonder if some connecting pax might help.

Royal Air Maroc plans to increase Miami service to 5 weekly.

Just a few months after launching service.
