The Chinese report says that Taiyuan, capital of northern China’s coal-rich Shanxi Province, has seen the opening of two intercontinental routes to Moscow in July, specifically, to VKO and ZIA on Russia’s I-Fly and Pegas Fly Airlines respectively
Both routes are operated once a week, obviously being charter service arranged in cooperation with local Chinese tour operators
Moscow has been conspicuous this year in forging air connectivity with China’s Tier-2 cities, representing in most cases 1st ever ground-breaking intercontinental/European route for the latter, such as Guiyang, Fuzhou, Nanchang, Hohhot
With more and more Moscow services, only a couple few of Chinese provincial capitals are left behind without any intercontinental service, like Xining, Changchun, Lhasa
Moscow is also noteworthy in having all of its 4 commercial airports (i.e, SVO, ZIA, VKO, DME) with direct service to China
