UFO orders aren't really strange anymore. But it's indeed the UFO order placed last month as this was the only UFO order for the A350 so far this year. The A330neo was a different order, placed on a different day in the same month.

Would be nice if the airline/lessor which placed the UFO A330neo order would be revealed in one of the next press conferences today :spin:

And more UFO orders revealed later this week.... :sigh:

Airbus also issued a press release for the Vistara order that already came out last week, making it an air show deal.

"India’s VISTARA to add 50 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft to fleet"

Confirming the deal as a letter of Intent (LoI) for 13 A320neo aircraft + 37 A320neo Family via leasing companies. Note that the direct order will just be A320, any A321s will come through the leasing companies.

A Memorandum of Understanding from an undisclosed customer???? What kind of order is this, should this really be announced at an airshow? I'm disappointed, Airbus used to criticize Boeing heavily for this kind of announcement at an airshow (17x 747-8i for two Undisclosed Customers at PAS years ago) and rightly so.

Both Airbus and Boeing are mainly rehashing previously announced commitments and disclosing UFO orders so far, hopefully this will improve the next few days...

Boeing used to add some UFO orders to the totals without any announcement, but last year they also had an announcement like this. I don't mind them booking UFO orders, but announcing them, especially before they are firm, at a show is something they should not be doing.

The OP explicitly says discussion related to Airbus orders in this thread. It is not "announcement only" and discuss in "general discussion" - where everything will get lost.

Not trying to be argumentative, but people have different views of how a thread should operate. We can't expect mods to police threads so particularly - nor, IMO, should we restrict threads so much. Let people have discussions.

Thanks for that summary. It will be interesting to see what day 2 brings and if the Indigo A330 order materialises this week.

It was John Leahy, not in an official Airbus statement, but saying to journalists how unimpressed he was with Boeing announcing UFO commitments for the 747-8 at the PAS 2011 airshow. Never mind, let's focus on some real orders now :smile:

This is just an announcement of the order placed in June (which IAG never publicized). PR confirms it by mentioning Level will have a total of 7 A330s after the order.
