Boeing has given up up actively trying to sell the 748i. You will probably never see one built again.

Didn't the POTUS just sign an order with Boeing for 2 presidential Aircraft?

Boeing should add it as a reconfirmed order.

Flyglobal

Those are two frames already built but stored. They are also already on Boeing’s books since last August.

It's really just an invitation to increase the accounting block yet again. 'See, orders are great. There's little risk of a write-down from failing to hit the accounting block number at some date in the distant future.' That allows them to book higher profits with every current delivery.

That is the orders Boeing already had coming into the show (aka 1st half 2018 orders). They had a total of 20 767s sold (11x Fedex, 4x UPS, 5x UFO). LH cargo ordered 2 77Fs earlier this year, so they are listed as a customer Boeing had this year coming into the show.

I'm pretty sure all the 767s are for UPS and FX. LH Cargo ordered a couple of 77Fs a few weeks ago IIRC.

I count 65 firm with today's HA firming up of their prior MOU.

Boeing have very creatively inflated their numbers (I especially like the asterisk)...and I'm sure Airbus will do the same too...unless Airbus vastly out-firmed Boeing and then they'll spin it that way. It's fun to watch the spin docs at work.

Why is everyone getting so bothered by marketing (you may not as you clearly understand spinning things)? Of course any company, any person really, wants to paint themselves in the best light. So, they show bigger numbers. It isn't "creative" inflation, or misleading as some suggest. Moreover, this is done every year at every show...its nothing new.

Boeing had a good show. Wasn't amazing, IMO, but good. Would have been great to see some 777X orders and some of the unidentified announcements with actual customers, though.

Ma*** (head) ***pon Cargo is/are also not identified on the order book, they are probably behind one of the UFO 777F orders.

Wow, great catch! Strikes me as odd, however, given their financial difficulties. I wonder if there is a 787 swap with -10s or something.

LH ordered 2 77F in April and confirmed them last week. Depending on cargo demand, replacement for 2 MD-11 or expansion.

Edit: The linked post talks about orders prior to Farnborough.

I don't know who MA is but the other will be ANA Cargo I expect. They have their first 777F coming in around 20 frames time from now.

That could be it, they might have named it Nippon Cargo and not ANA Cargo by mistake.

They could be orders by CASC for Chinese mainland carriers.

I have a feeling CASC might very well have been planning a significant Airbus and Boeing buy and with no official State Visits planned between China and the US / EU for the remainder of the year, Farnborough would have been the most logical place to announce them to secure maximum media attention. So the plan would have been to announce all these commitments with a mainland Chinese carrier behind them, but now with the trade dispute, the Chinese government decided to not announce those carriers so everything is coming up Unidentified.

I was wondering if Novus Aviation Capital already had a customer for their order earlier today. I don't see any other leasing company with open orders left on the orderbook, unless there are some UFO orders from a leasing company.

Novus almost certainly has a customer lined up. They wouldn’t place a speculative order/commitment this late in the 77W’s life, they would speculate with the 787.

But than it should be aloud to talk about net numbers. New firm orders, without MOU, LOI, options, conversions or disclosing previous UFOs. Plain the addition to the order book. That is what we talk about the year around and even throw firm orders in doubt. We can than talk and add the MOU, LOI, options and commitments, when they get firmed.

That is why we have the master Order Threads that are updated monthly with the official numbers from Airbus and Boeing.

Farnborough and Paris are the biggest aviation events of their respective years and the only time the entire media - not just aviation - pay attention to what is going on. The OEMs and the airlines want to make as big a splash as they can during that attention.

I'd expect the reverse, at least unless HA plans to open the long-rumored LHR route. The 789 is quite a bit bigger than the 332 and its capacity will be welcome on the biggest mainland destinations: LAX, SFO SEA. Meanwhile the 332 has enough range to fly to any East Asia destination.

Will be interesting to see if they are 9 or 10 abreast in Y.

That thought went through my mind too. I really hope they are 9 abreast, if they are 10 then I assume the rest of the 77W fleet will follow and the BA pax experience will degrade still further.

Wondering if one of these is Ethiopian. There was indication earlier this week that it is looking to augment its fleet of 789s, possibly doubling it. The reason it's not announced may be that ET has had a huge week (with Skytrax Award, Eritrea and such) that they didn't want to dilute some of that with yet another announcement.

I don't think ET made any order, since their CEO have stated to media don't expect anything from ET for this edition of FIA.

Ma*** (head) ***pon Cargo is/are also not identified on the order book, they are probably behind one of the UFO 777F orders.

I don't know who MA is but the other will be ANA Cargo I expect. They have their first 777F coming in around 20 frames time from now.

The MA is Malaysia Airlines

MH is their code, not MA.

MH is the IATA code (normally passenger side)
MAS is the ICAO code

MAB is also used (picking up the Berhad in the official company name)

And i don't think Malev has come back from the dead to place the order

In this context it doesn't matter what the codes are. The names of the airlines were fully written out, just without airlines or airways behind it. Malaysian Airlines and Nippon Cargo Airlines it is then.

BA commits to 3 more 77W’s, through a lease

I was wondering if Novus Aviation Capital already had a customer for their order earlier today. I don't see any other leasing company with open orders left on the orderbook, unless there are some UFO orders from a leasing company.

The previous aircraft were partly taken on ten year leases from GECAS. If anyone it'll be with them so maybe it's a deal between the three existing parties.
