Notes:
I made this list based on data freshly culled from US DOT's latest report of US International Air Passenger and Freight Statistics for 2017 (available at https://www.transportation.gov/sites/do ... 2017_0.pdf), with the extra visualization thing to help ppl get a better grasp of the raw stats and the list in a more appealing way (Hope you would enjoy it)
• The list is focused on intercontinental gateway airports to the United States faraway from continental US with a distance of over 5,000 km, hence excluding neighboring airports of the country like YYZ, CUN, MEX, etc. But please bear in mind the stats for the airports in the list count in pax traffic to American overseas territories like Guam
• The pax traffic is two-way

A few noteworthy points for this list:

All four major West European hub airports have made into the list, with LHR perching atop, which should be unsurprising

Yet it's still amazing to find LHR running streets ahead of others, with twice as much pax traffic as its closest chaser CDG

NRT and ICN are the extraordinary Asian duo of intercontinental gateways to the US, on a par with 3 other European hubs featuring CDG, FRA and AMS, all of which figure prominently in rankings at the heels of one another

The 4 hubs—HKG, PEK, PVG, TPE—in the region of Greater China all show up in the list too, albeit at the bottom; yet interestingly, their pax counts are spread pretty evenly in the 3-3.5 million range

Any thoughts?

PS: US DOT has set a real good example for the rest of the world to follow in sharing Open Gov't Data and Stats as seen in the linked report, esp in this Big-data age when data means so much in an industry like civil aviation. Hope more aviation regulators would follow up in this action

Crazy to think that Delta will not offer service to the #7 busiest intercontinental gateway to the USA.
Oh wait, yes they will*

Is that just P2P like IAH to PEK? Or is it including IAH - PEK - ISB?

LGW must be knocking close to that list too? Always done loads to Florida, now doing lots of LAX / NY, the month stats for this year are all significant growth, so how close to number 10 was it?

According to figures from Dublin Airport, there were just over 3.5million transatlantic passengers in 2017. Now a percentage of this would be to YYZ & to a much lesser extent YVR/YUL but I’d imagine Dublin must be very close to the top 10

I would be interested to see where KEF comes out in the rankings. Smaller aircraft size but a large and growing number of US destinations.

A list of top 40 global international gateways to the USA is provided in OP's source. DUB ranks #24, LGW #27 and KEF #30 on that list. It's not entirely comparable to OP's top 10 graph as it includes Canada and Mexico. There are 12 European airports present on this list and those are ranked as follows:

1. LHR
2. CDG
3. FRA
4. AMS
5. DUB
6. MAD
7. MUC
8. LGW
9. KEF
10. FCO
11. ZRH
12. IST
