Amaszonas Paraguay will leave the Amaszonas Group

Mon Jun 18, 2018 5:38 pm

Bit of an airline drama coming from a country seldom heard in aviation related news, Paraguay.

The local affiliate of the Bolivia-based Amaszonas Group, is leaving the mothership. News published in neighboring Argentina mention than the less than stellar economic results of the Asuncion-based airline in the first half of the year are the reason why the Amaszonas Group is jettisoning its Paraguayan affiliate.

Spain's AirNostrum and Canada's Av Max will each now hold 50% of the airline. In any case, the airline's future is in question as most of its functions were provided from Bolivia, including the airline's name that will have to be changed. It operates 4 Bombardier CRJ-200.
