future AZ uniforms revealed when?

Fri Jun 15, 2018 10:48 am

Anyone knows when the future uniforms by Alberta Ferretti will be revealed? Very curious about the initiative since poor Alitalia should pay attention to more important matters like surviving.

Looks like a number of uniforms from the 90's. Like how much more literal can you be, and they are presenting this at a fashion week? Professional doesn't equate to boring and uninspired. Nice trim tho and belt for women.

This was extremely unnecessary given the current state of AZ. Quite underwhelming, to say the least. As LawAndOrder said, it reminds me of airline uniforms from the 90s and early 2000s. IB's 1990 uniform immediately came to mind (I recognize that they aren't identical).

Sadly enough, the men's uniform look quite alike Trenord's new ones (Trenord is the railway company for Milan area and they are terrible!!). I liked the Etihad era's uniforms waaaay more!

I actually think their current red/green uniforms are better/attractive/chic. The new ones are just bland and don't quite stand out. Perhaps that's the point.. not to stand out. I also concur with the rest of you...money for this airline should be spent on other pressing matters.

They need to get their priorities straight, btw how old are their current uniforms? Seems like the current uniforms are not that old.

The new uniforms are very classy and glamourous. But yet they'd need a good pair of wings on the chest!

Nothing special at all - the "old new" uniform was much more unique than this latest attempt. As others have pointed out, it also seems to be a waste of money given Alitalia's perilous financial state - akin to rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Perhaps we can look forward to a new livery soon too? The current one is about two years old now, and it seems like it would be a prudent use of funds...

Very festive! As others have said very nineties! I like the Etihad ones a lot more, surely they could have just altered them?!

The uniforms aren't bad but as many others have stated, this company has better things to spend their money on than replacing uniforms which honestly did not need replacing.

This new uniform is not bad, but the previous red and green ones were better by far. AZ should probably stop wasting so much money.

Why do they need new uniforms? Aren’t the current ones new? I thought they were pretty great compared to these all navy 90s rejects

I think they are hideous! That belt looks like someone has fastened a branded seat belt around their waste. Such a massive massive step backwards from the current..

I think the current ones are stunning- and phenomenal branding. Maybe they are changing due to a licence fee or something they have to pay? It does have a lot of accessories- maybe it’s expensive to manufacture and maintain? Things like tights, shoes, hats etcs.

I believe the staff complained the current uniform wasn’t comfortable either? Maybe modifying would have been too expensive?

Love them, they are classic, elegant and simple. Much better than the Etihad ones which were, by the way, hated by everyone in the airline. They were uncomfortable and extremely warm even in summer so crew would sweat which is something, as an airline from the south, you want to avoid.

People on here do not understand how much AZ staff despised Etihad. They felt humiliated by them especially once most foreign managers were placed in one building and all the Italians in another. The whole Etihad era in Alitalia was a waste of time and it made the situation so much worse - which seems to be the norm with Etihad these days.

Introduction of new uniforms is primarily the removal of yet another sign that Etihad was ever present in that airline.

If they are so petty minded perhaps ditchng EY era livery would be a good idea too.

That actually wouldn't be such a bad idea as the previous one had nothing wrong with it.

Indeed. This airline’s priorities are all fudged up! And to answer your question, the uniforms are two years old. I can’t believe some individuals are here saying this is what they need!!

Don't worry, there will be for sure a cunning plan in place to stave off collapse. There usually is. It'll involve the Italian Post Office, the Education Department, or maybe even the State Railway Company ;) :duck:
