As per the Chinese reports, Air China has launched PEK-CPH with 4x weekly A330-200 service on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, starting from May 30

Meanwhile, China Eastern is soon to start PVG-ARN flights four times a week using A330-200 on every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, beginning on June 16

With these services, air connectivity should be greatly boosted btwn Nordic capitals (with the noted exception of Norway’s Oslo) and the top metropolitan duo of mainland China

It also shows Hainan Airlines has failed in getting approval for its PEK-OSL application from CAAC

Furthermore, CA and MU are certainly looking to open popular intercontinental long-haul routes out of each other’s major hub city in the next year or two, following CAAC’s relaxation of “One Route One Carrier”restriction

Any reason given?

As per the report, MU has inaugurated its PVG-ARN service today, with 193 pax aboard the first flight operated by A332
MU289 PVG 01:05 ARN 06:15 2467
MU290 ARN 12:30 PVG 05:10+1 2467

This is not only the airline's first route to Sweden out of PVG, but also its first service to the entire Nordics

As of now, MU flies to 10 European destinations with a total of 85 weekly flights

CAAC would never do that
An airline is neither supposed nor allowed to know why its application got rejected

My guessed reasons are:
1, Reserved for CA to operate such route; or
2, Beijing is still in retaliation mode against Noble price given...

Either way we can only guess, and make the wildest guess.

Flysmart24.no reports that Hainan Airlines has been given approval to start PEK-OSL. The article states the route will start next year 3 days a week.

Sometimes I would really like to know the rationales behind certain route applications even more than the decisions CAAC makes. For example last autumn Tibet Airlines applied for Jinan-Helsinki route... which is really a strange one, perhaps even more of an oddball than the recently revealed Zhengzhou-Luxembourg one. What's the point of even applying for such a route?
