Very nice and modern improvement imhop. It looks better on the 737MAX than the 787 rendering. The only thing that bugs me is they kept the same inboard facing winglet design which looks out of place with this new and improved livery.

Thank God it’s not all white, blue stripe, and an angled Westjet logo! Well done!

I agree, it has beautiful colors and it is very sleek and swift. Especially on the MAX aircraft!

I still don’t like the use of teal, but otherwise this is pretty good. It looks better than it did on the 787 in the renderings.

That is slick! Agreed with the above poster that a larger Westjet type treatment would have been nice. I think it would push it into perfection.

Not bad, but the tail looks a little confused, like the emblem wants to be three different things but fails at all of them.

Not to hijack the thread, but saw one of their Saab 340s just out of the shop with the new Westjet Link paint job at YLW today ...

So if it's just out of the paint shop.....wonder why it wouldn't have the new livery also?

Now anxiously waiting for that MAX to show up on new Halifax-Paris flight!

Looks very nice! Nice colours, and a lovely shade of teal.
Perhaps the tail design is a tad confusing..? But, yes, still a very good job.

So, given that Saab340, the WJ Encore/Link livery remains the same, or gets updated?

This is literally not even remotely close to QF but whatever. Haters gotta hate I guess.

Honestly it's a lovely transition. Well done Westjet!

I absolutely like this new livery. For once, airline livery designers have done a great job!

Well done WS

I figured it was a play on the Spirit of Canada/Australia and the continuation of the tail down the fuselage.

Sorry, didn’t realise jokes weren’t allowed on this forum.

As Bricktop said, it was a play on the “Spirit of Canada” line. I believe there were a few in the Westjet rebranding thread.

Not a hater at all.

I guess when you hear the same joke or comments being regurgitated over and over it gets a bit stale....

It's ok, nice refresh but the tail is a bit of a mess, part old Westjet logo and part previous AC 'digital leaf'.

The tail is a representation of their Maple Leaf Delta logo. My only disappointment is that you will only see the full logo on the inside of the plane.

Westjet Link was announced before the official livery change, and painting started on the Pacific Coastal fleet prior to this. It's too bad with the service delay of Westjet Link, that they couldn't have also introduced the new livery. In any event, my old hometown of YQL finally gets a bit of an upgrade in service...

According to WS's PR release, the current fleet will be repainted during their maintenance cycles.

I'm just going by what the fellows working on the Saab told me. I didn't ask why or if they're getting the repaint or not.

A brand refresh done right. Looks a lot better than the renderings we saw of the 787.

I had no idea WestJet was operating SAAB 340s, but it looks great! Glad to see some airline are still operating the SAABs.

Not a fan of the updated livery. I agree with a prior commentator that the tail is a mess. While the current tail is a bit boring it is sharp and nicely balanced. Fail by WestJet.

Just nitpicking, but WestJet isn't operating the Saabs. They're being operated by Pacific Coastal, a long time operator of the S340.

If you notice that the titles are now only in blue. Visually, the idea is to make it appear as a one name title. This deemphasizes the "West" in Westjet.

For me, its a symbol of their growing pains. It would have been better if they had shown some restraint and not changed the livery until well after all the labour troubles were settled.

The existing frames should go for paint fairly quickly, as they are also slated to receive a cabin upgrade to a 3 class J/Y+/Y configuration 12/21/139 on the 800/max8. Not sure the config plan on the 700/600s but they will also be getting the upgrades. Mods begin Q3 this year and should be complete by 2020.

I like the update. I don't know if it's just the lighting, but the teal looks slightly darker than in the render which looks a lot nicer. Sort of reminds me of all the coniferous trees in the Rockies. It looks more Canadian than AC's new livery lol (I still love it though).
