According to the report, London Stansted Airport representatives, business leaders and local politicians are forging a partnership to secure direct air links with China in order to foster new trade and investment opportunities in the East of England
Stansted Airport chief executive Ken O’Toole said there was “significant” demand for Chinese connectivity, and the airport was confident it could secure new links to China
Stansted Airport said a similar partnership between Manchester Airport and other relevant parties proved successful to secure direct links to both HKG and PEK in 2014 and 2016 respectively. The PEK-MAN route alone helped exports from the north of England to China increase by 260% to £200m a month while Chinese tourists to the north increased by more than 50%
Definitely a smart move with great chances of success, given the close proximity of STN to Cambridge University which holds a huge pull over the imagination of Chinese tourists and students alike, to say the very least
STN-PEK, STN-PVG, STN-CGO, STN-TNA, STN-XMN, STN-HGH, STN-NKG can be obvious options
