Cubana doesn't operate the 737, so if the other report holds water... I'm very worried indeed.

FYI - AA's webpage says AA1334 is awaiting takeoff at the time that I write this.

EDIT: at 1:24 ET, the aa.com page now says "Delayed: In Flight."

Flight 833 is only suppose to depart in a couple of hours, so I don't think so.

Indeed, AA1334 would fit with the time of the crash due to the delay. Hopefully it is not that flight

Blue Panorama's I-BPAC has been active around Cuba on behalf of Cubana. 734, apparently active as recent as two days ago.

Flightaware is saying this too. Could be that they can't take off because of the accident or that they were the accident. It is a 738 flight, so that woudl explain the 737 thoughts.

Radio Habana Cuba said it was an internal flight from the Cuban capital to Holguin, in the east of the island.
So it doesn't seem to be the AA flight

BBC now saying it was a 737. COPA also had a 737 departure around the same time, and has a livery more similar to Cubana than AA's. Perhaps that was it?

According to FR24 CU972 is a flight with service from HAV to HOG on a 737 (Blue Panorama's?)
Other CU flights are being shown as AT7 and 320

#Breaking 737 Crash on departure in Cuba. Translation from @CubaTVSITVC Aerial accident occurred with a Blue Panorama leased by Cubana de Aviación. Its destination was the province of Holguín, in the east of the country. Ambulances and firefighters on the track.

Looking at FR27, there was a scheduled Cubana flight at 11AM to Holguin. Equipment: 737

Local 10's Havana bureau chief Hatzel Vela reports Cuban state-run television says the plane was a Boeing 737. The plane was rented by Cubana, the country's national airline, from Blue Panorama.

In a post to social media, Cuba's ambassador in the U.S., José Ramón Cabañas, said 104 passengers were onboard the flight.

Vela says the plane was headed for Holguin on the eastern side of the island and crashed near a high school campus.

Not a good story at all. My thoughts are with those who are directly affected by this tragedy. Crashes on takeoff - with a huge plume of smoke - usually does not end well.
I was fortunate enough to pass through HAV in late 2016 and I found the people of Cuba to be friendly and welcoming. Only politics gets in the way.

My guess is that there aren't any private ADS-B receivers in Cuba, so it won't get picked up until it's in airspace that these sites get reports from. AA1334 isn't on flightradar24 yet, for instance, but the aa.com website shows it over the gulf right now.

Edit: CM219 now shows up on flightradar24.

FR24 has live data from AAL1334 to MIA in the air North off the coast of HAV. So that's almost assuredly not it.

Actual Runway Departure changed to May-18-2018 1:23 PM for AA 1334 according to Flightstats.

Regardless of whose plane it is, this looks very serious.
