IAG and British Airways

Sun May 13, 2018 7:26 pm

For a holding company that doesn’t hold an AOC, they’ve just replaced the enormous BA WORLD CARGO branding signs on the South Side at Heathrow with their own IAG Cargo one. Given much of BA Cargo staff were relocated over to IAG Cargo, do BA have their own cargo operation anymore?
And will the enormous BA Speedmarque be coming down from the Cargo centre? Given BA have also removed their branding from the Cathedral hangar, long before any planned closure date, is something afoot?

I doubt they’d remove the speedmarque from the hanger. No real need and it would obviously cost money, which we know IAG don’t like spending. The cathedral hanger as we know will be flawed eventually so I wouldn’t think too much into that.

QantasLink isn't even a company and yet has eighty-four aircraft flying around in its livery...

No, BA World Cargo was fully merged with Iberia Cargo to form IAG Cargo, and BMI Cargo was merged in later. It's worth noting too that the dedicated BA freighters were wet-leased from Global Supply Solutions (XH).
