I am working in an equally male dominated industry, every one woman more I can get hold on I try to place. They do change perspectives. And they do it in a competitive environment. Kudos. Not all, but most. But then, don't let me tell you how many guys fuck up. And are the reason we actually talk about shit like this.

Extremely inappropriate post IMHO.
If she had only 2,500 hours she got paid only for 2,500. Insurance pays for pregnancy and short term disability. How much it would cost to an airline if a pilot leaves after getting all the training on their dime and build hours. Women are more loyal than men.

Why no surveys on the % Male Flight Attendants.... why no special promotions and training for male flight attendants.....
India has a high proportion of women in most "male" fields , and lots of men in "nursing" etc . Once the society becomes more equal like Sweden the trend will likely reverse.
But it is also due to Women having mothers who take care of the house and kids, easy cheap access to maids.

So as a father is now entitled to such leave aswell, the whole male/female discussion has become obsolete for carriers in these countries anyway.
