Ski destination (like HDN) and the northern gateway to Yellowstone.

Visited Bozeman this past Winter and skied at BigSky. Great place and it's great to have more options but from LGB it doesn't quite work for us East Coasters :(

Are these really the next best adds for B6? Are any of these seasonal?

Well, at least to BZN and HDN they're not competing against a carrier with high frequency. They are routes that can probably fill another (against UA) plane and still get decent fares.

So is it BZN M,W,F,SU and HDN T,TH,SA ?
It was rumored they were going to add some less than daily markets.

B6 is my 2nd Love and I'm happy there not throwing in the towel at LGB!

Does this complete the plan for new destinations this year? If so, it will be a great disappointment to many people on here.

I still see them adding ind this year but since they are adding three new stations, I don’t see anymore cities on top of that.

Honestly, many people on here have been repeatedly saying B6 will fly to CVG and IND even back before CLE and DTW were added. I'm very skeptical about IND after this news. Very well could be wrong.

Wow impressive! For an typical “east coast airline” that many like to paint, is adding 2 new states into its network out west that other more west coast airlines don’t even serve. JetBlue seems to like serving these types of routes, and does very well on high yield and low competition leisure markets. Smart move for the west coast strategy imo.
I wonder if they will also announce some possible new mint transcon as well

Wow, I really didn't see this one coming. ONT is the only one that doesn't surprise me. I think this makes only one destination that B6 has pulled out of and hasn't restarted yet (CMH).

You can’t help yourself.

Please look at the SWA schedule change thread and the anticipation that it gets on here.
The fleet review will be out soon don’t worry.

For now they are opening two new and one old station it is news.

This looks to be developing as a pretty thorough rethink of use of LGB, ONT, and BUR resources. What are they going to have intra-CA when this is done?

More commitment to so cal, solidify a major player in the region moves

LGB-Reno seemed to be a hit this winter and maybe is proving to be good all year. They are looking for other airports with less competition.

HDN sounds crazy but i could definitely see it working and being profitable. It's a niche market where airfares are crazy high to that whole area. Also this might lead to a BOS/JFK less than daily load into HDN closer to winter! b6 could use more ski market service, beautiful in summer too access to the Rockies.

Kudos to B6 to go the less than daily route I think that is the key at LGB, I think some routes need trimming now too. They fly too many flights to Vegas on off days for example. Trim to have day specific services and keep LGB strong is my hope. Doesn't look like B6 is closing up LGB and moving to LAX which a.net wanted. Adding service to lgb, ont and bur is still increasing their so cal presence.

Would have like to seen seasonal and less than daily (3-4 weekly) BOS/JFK-BZN. Plenty of people want to visit Yellowstone from Northeast to fill A320.

Not surprisingly given their independence from LAWA. I predict it will stick around over the long-term and that BOS and/or FLL will eventually follow.

Yeah we have countless 1-stop options. As a UA FF it's either via DEN or ORD, typically :) But a non-stop would seal the deal in my indecision to buy the Ikon pass :)

Okay, so two. I find it interesting how B6 has resumed service to all of these cities that they once left.

All ONT can do by federal law is abate fees for a 2-year period. Hate to break the news to you, but LAWA did the same.

I would like to mention something. When a large company store moves to a shopping center it's called an anchor store. Then that draws more shoppers to the store and helps other businesses.

When China Airlines started serving ONT, I saw it as an anchor airline and now more airlines / more service will come from ONT.

I would love to see JetBlue have flights from ONT.

They can do a lot more than that such as marketing $ and getting the local business community onboard with revenue guarantees etc. LAWA wouldn’t have ever had any incentive to make ONT their #1 priority.

I think a big reason for the ONT return is the reduction in fees. JetBlue was going great in ONT but left when LAWA increased the fees. Now that it’s cheaper to operate out of ONT, I predict JetBlue will stay after the incentives run our.

ONT can facilitate such involvement by local organizations, but the local organizations could've done it themselves when LAWA was running ONT if they were so concerned.
