Norwegian Argentina's 737 returning to Europe

Wed Apr 25, 2018 3:37 am

DN confirmed today that its 737-800 LV-HQH is returning to Europe on loan to Norwegian Air Shuttle due to a shortage in the fleet for the European summer season.

Let the speculations begin.

So it must re-registered as EI-FVO again?

Apparently it needs to get an EU registration to fly within the EU. Its LV- reg is being suspended (note I did not say cancelled).

It was reported before that G-NRWY was going to LV- , but it was still flying as G-NRWY last weekend at LGW.

The quickest routing would probably be to do something similar to what Embraer do with their European deliveries.
Something like this perhaps:

Buenos Aires (EZE) -> Recife (REC) -> Gran Canaria (LPA) -> Oslo (OSL)

However, I noticed that the delivery flight from Oslo to Buenos Aires took the following routing, so perhaps they might do this but in reverse:

Oslo (OSL) -> Goose Bay (YYR) -> Fort-de-France (FDF) -> Buenos Aires (EZE)

It is not clear whether this particular 738 or more of the type will return to Argentina. The airline is now saying that while operations remain on target for the second semester 2018 - they no longer say July '18 - they may now deploy the A321 in Argentina. They seem to be punting the whole thing forward pending clarity on Norwegian's future and the relationship with IAG.

Around 7 hours... perfectly fine for an empty 737-800 on ferry.
