WOWair World Cup Charters

Mon Apr 02, 2018 3:55 pm

https://www.routesonline.com/news/38/ai ... june-2018/

According to routesonline.com. WOWair will be adding a charter flight operated by their Airbus A330-300 to Moscow from Reykjavík, with the departing flight to Moscow on June 15th and the return flight to Reykjavík on June 17th.

However, the source above states that WOWair has not yet specified which of Moscow's airport that they intend to fly to. Does anyone know (or better yet, can anyone find out) which Moscow airport WOWair will be using? Thoughts?

My opinion:
Since this is a charter flight, I would think that they would fly into the smallest of Moscow's commercial airports, which is VKO. DME and SVO are obviously still possible too.

I noted the new Icelandair 757-300 in Moscow last week around the time of their first football game.

TF-ISX did a World Cup flight indeed, though I am not sure whether today's Icelandair flight to Volgograd will be operated by the same aircraft. TF-ISX is currently on the way to Zurich ...

The WOWair flight to Volgograd yesterday was operated by A321 TF-SON, which after that flight proceeded to Vilnius for parking. Parking space seems to be rather tight at various World Cup cities' airports ...

The Icelandair flight was operated by B757-200 TF-ISK.
