DL E170/175 Windows

Mon Mar 19, 2018 4:08 am

I've flown on E170s & E175s on DL and it seems like no matter where I sit, the windows are misaligned. Is this true on every seat in these planes?

DL doesn't fly the 170/175. What carrier?

What does "misaligned" mean? The windows on the left side of the airplane don't line up with the windows on the right? Or are the window seats not conveniently located near a window?

I'm assuming the latter.

It's like the American CR7s. 2A and 2D have this extremely awkwardly located window.

Pretty standard on the the type. United’s e175 windows are fairly aligned in first class and the first rows of e+, but then it just goes downhill.

Exactly. The windows are in the same place on all ERJ 170s and 175s, but airlines might have different configurations. And Delta's interiors have three different seat pitches.

Embraer spaced the windows to align with Y seats at 32 inch pitch - they made a point of that in their early advertising for the E-jets. So when carriers with two-class concepts installed seats at 30/31-35/38 inch pitch some rows end up having misaligned windows...

The E2 retains the 32 inch pitch window spacing, as far as I can see, which means continued misaligned windows, as most carriers will use slimline seats spaced at 28-30 inches in Y. Launch carrier for the E190-E2 is Widerøe, which will have 114 seats at 28 inch pitch in their aircraft.

If you want misaligned windows, fly the CRJ fleet - any sub-type.
