The new configuration has been revealed along with plans for future retrofit.
The first aircraft is G-VIIX with a 32J/52W/252Y configuration.

The Heathrow frames that aren’t 4-class are also going to go to that configuration.

3-4-3 is here to stay. From what can be seen this looks like a decent cabin.

Bigging up the new cabins but no mention of the dreaded 10 abreast!

thgsr08 wrote:The 3x4x3 config is not the big problem here.
BA offers 3x3x3 seats on their 777 with only 17.5in width while SQ offers 19in in the same config.
LATAM, for exemple, is 3x4x3, 17in. ANA on its master premium config offers 16.5in (how do they do that to us?)
JAL also offers 19in.
Even SU with 3x4x3 config is larger, with 18in.
So, what I mean is that there's space for more width but larger seats cost more and probably, they don't want to give space for free, and less dense config doesn't mean confort as we can see above.
BTW, 2x4x2 on Business is soooooo narrow!

It's not entirely clear what the plan is you're right, I have read various sources. I think LGW has three based sub-fleets of B77E.
GE90 3 Class
5 G-VIIO/P/R/T/U (the first four have never been LHR based)
GE90 4 Class
4 G-VIIV/W/X/Y sub par hard product vs. LHR
Note G-VIIX is the first densified to 10 abreast with F removed, G-VIIS is LHR based not LGW.
Trent 3 Class
4 G-YMMC/D/R/S drawn from the LHR fleet, same product but LGW based

Interesting to read that G-VIIO operated some LHR services in February, extremely rare to see any of the above at LHR full stop let alone in revenue service.

BDA, BGI and UVF currently are served with an F cabin, so these are likely to remain in the old configuration.
However, BA will be decreasing the amount of F services when some of the LHR 777 fleet is reconfigured. We were told that some of the 772ER frames will be converted from 4 class to 3 class.

Blimey! How did I miss that? On LHR-ATL for a few days!
I assume that all four have been to LHR at some point, if only for maintenance!
Have the TAM 777s been confirmed?
