F9 could also add RIC-DEN nonstop service since RIC is located in the largest market in the U.S. that currently doesn't have nonstop service to DEN on a LCC. F9 and WN also both already have nonstop service out of DEN to a few East Coast markets that are smaller than RIC.

I agree, there are several markets around the area that could use DEN service.
Why would F9 waste resources at BWI against NK, WN and UA on the same route.

There's no one doing a DEN-ROC either. They're the last large Upstate NY metropolitan area that doesn't have DEN service yet.

Does SYR have DEN service?

There are a few other destinations in addition to DEN that F9 could add nonstop service to out of BWI such as CVG, MIA, and SAT.

Strange, every flight I’ve ever taken on Frontier has been on time or early. No doubt they have their issues (like all airlines) and service recovery can be difficult for smaller airlines; but, “one of the all-time worst ops performances in modern US Aviation history” seems a bit over the top. Also, I’m not sure how important timeliness and reliability are to their target customer. On the flights I’ve taken with them, my plans wouldn’t have been affected one bit by a late flight. I definitely like the odds with Frontier considering I pay about $30 to fly over 1000 miles. Beats driving for sure!

Totally agree. I flew 12 flight segments with them this past year and only one was delayed, by about 45 minutes. Everything else was either on-time or early.

We can expect more new and/or expanded route announcements after the holiday season. Frontier is to receive +/- 16 new additional aircraft in 2019.

In addition to the new aircraft coming online, other evidence that new routes may be announced includes schedule gaps that have appeared in several cities next summer (I’ve personally noticed gaps in SFO, DFW, and SBA, and others posters have mentioned seeing them in other cities).

While F9 has re-entered or announced plans to re-enter many of the markets that it previously pulled out of, F9 hasn't yet announced any plans to reenter DAY.

It is hard to tell if F9 will actually re-enter DAY because on the one hand, F9 has been recently re-entering many markets that it previously pulled out of, but on the other hand, DAY is near CVG and CMH, both of which are already served by F9.

There would very likely be enough demand for F9 service out of CVG if F9 re-enters DAY since F9 currently carries over 1,000,000 passengers a day out of CVG each year whereas F9 would likely have a much smaller presence at DAY than it currently does at CVG if it re-enters DAY. F9 also already has nonstop service out of CVG to destinations that it would not serve nonstop from DAY if it re-enters DAY. DAY is probably also far enough from CVG to support F9 service out of both DAY and CVG since CVG is approximately 67 miles from Downtown Dayton and located south of the city of Cincinnati in Northern Kentucky.

F9 re-entered MDT even thought they have a significant operation at PHL. Maybe they wouldn’t go gangbusters in DAY but I could see DEN and MCO.

It’s interesting that these times would allow for a connection to/from Wow Air at BWI. Maybe something is in the works.
