The only airport outside of Brazil that has direct connections to BSB and FOR is EZE and the nonstop flights' schedules to connect to the MCO and MIA are just not practical, unless one adds a stop in GRU. G3 would have to offer a very, very attractive fare, given the abundance of capacity over more direct routings between Argentina and Brazil.

They do not, it's all Y or Y+ish.

Thanks for reply, is the Y+ish 3 abreast or 2 ?
Thanks again.

"Seats remain in a 3-3 configuration, but they block the middle seat; seats also have extra legroom and recline. Other features include use of lounges, amenity kit, hot meals, etch"
I was wondering how well this would be viewed by DL.First class passenger connections
Thanks in advance..

GOL doesn't operate 757s; moreover, MAXs are doing TATL runs now. The fact that the MAX and soon A321neoLR have longer range still doesn't settle that issue. The airlines that want 757 replacements for their range haven't chosen a replacement yet. So, no, it does not "officially" settle anything.

But it does beg the question: if G3 can do BSB-MIA for example on a MAX, it means it's only a matter of time until AA either up-gauges the route or replaces the 752 with a MAX of their own. Ditto for other routes that don't require the 757s range. And, at that point, is a minimal subfleet really required, for those highly specific routes in which the 757 was the sweet spot? We'll have to wait a little more to see.
737max8 wrote:These routes are 3600-3800 miles. What is that in nmi? Is nmi what the aircraft range is based on?
The same way it's currently viewed. No airline in Brazil has offered anything above Y+ on domestic since RG (in fact, it was all Y until a couple of years ago) so they're ought to be used to it by now.
As for the service on these flights, I have read that all tickets will include meal service (complimentary), to offer a comparable experience to JJ/AA. Honestly, depending on the soft product, I'd rather fly G3 on a brand new 737 MAX than AA's hopelessly outdated 752s out of BSB. Even if I usually just try to catch a widebody with a connecting flight instead, since JJ axed MIA-BSB.

I don't like flying G3, woudn't recomend it, but I can't deny the move is great for passagers from BSB and FOR.
But I think they could offer a better seat on their intl flights. 186Y seats in all economy layout is horrible and business travellers
would never choose G3.

Doubt AA will operate MIA-BSB without lieflat beds.

I bet JJ will re-lauch BSB-MIA as soon as ANAC freeds them to operate LA aircraft without changing rego.
There's no 767 free to operate BSB-MIA and as a hub, they're gonna invest a lot there.

Where did you get the width and pitch information? I had only read "will be better than the current domestic product," but that's clearly not true if those are the numbers.

Are you sure? AR will operate EZE-PUJ with the MAX 8, 3.240 NM which is only shorter by 43 NM compared to BSB-MCO, 3,283 NM. AR has stated the flight won't be payload restricted.

incitatus wrote:Right now Gol only has 5 flights that can feed nonstop its FOR departures: From MAO, REC, BEL, NAT and SSA. For so much talk about FOR being a hub, Gol's operation there is quite small: between 20 and 23 departures per day. So far its intent is to focus the FOR operation on these 5 points of feed, both for its operation to the US, and the partnership with AF/KL.
The BSB departures on the other hand have a couple of dozen feed possibilities, so they are much better positioned for success there.
