André Orban from website AV24.be made a calculation based on the aggregate figures given in the Lufthansa press release for the point-to-point airlines (Eurowings and Brussels Airlines) and the Brussels Airlines figures given by the airline in its own press release, and by subtracting the latter from the former. The stats are impressive!
In 2017, Eurowings transported 23,536,000 passengers (+120%) on 196,262 flights (+108,6%).
Looks to be the fastest growing airline in Europe for the moment!

almost all due to airberlin who were doing a lot of flights for them after a deal they made with etihad. Indeed LH group is the biggest airline in europe once more and they are not growing LH.

LH classic is growing as well, so does LH Cargo. In terms of traffic Units, where 1 T U equals 10 passengers, LH jas been number one also in 2016 In Terms of tonne Kilometers FR never passed LH and won't be able to do that for a Long time.

Any idea how the recently launched weekly CGN-CPT route is performing...any chance for increase in frequency for the next season or from another point as well (DUS?)
With Austrian also starting CPT later in the year the LH group will be serving CPT with 4 carriers from 5 airports.
Just Brussels Airlines not operating to South Africa from the group then.

CPT Is operating Lufthansa from Frankfurt & Munich, Zurich by edelweiss, Cologne by Eurowings and now Austrian from Vienna, a big increase in the market, I hope it is that market in JNB increases more

I can tell only from personal experience - the inaugural flight was packed, my return flight in mid-december was surprisingly not full, appr. 70 % load factor.

So far the plan is to use it on 6x weekly DUS-JFK.

Not much of it is organic growth, most came from taking over AB.
