Virgin's plane scheduling is a bit all of the place at the moment with their 787 downtime, but the 747 operates LGW to CUN twice/three times weekly and from MAN I believe too, during summer season...

SYD-LAX has a weekly 744 covering A380 maintenance most of the year, peak DEC-JAN mainly there is a second flight 2-3 weekly with 744’s.

Nothing for MEL-HKG coming up that I’m aware of certainly nothing currently, last year it did get a 744 for a while. I thought it was meant to be permanent but didn’t last long, it may come back at some point.

SYD-HKG uses a 744 all year, some frequencies go A380 DEC-FEB, this could change with network changes to become more permanent but nothing loaded.

SYD-YVR is seasonal DEC-JAN, June-July 744.

Unless there has been a major change somewhere, BA, KLM and Lufthansa still has 747 service in to IAD.

Man I dont know what kind of research you did but it's way off! In your original report you did not even include ORD at all! It has daily 747 service with BA LH and KLM. LH goes double daily 748 in the summer and BA usually does as well except this May they will introduce A380 service on one of the flights. As far as KLM ORD will probably be the carriers last 747 route as they use the combi version on this route. ORD probably has the most 747 service in the mainland USA when you factor in cargo operators!

Easy, maybe you should try it next time, it’s pretty easy to miss a route or city. We are trying to make a list of regularly flown routes by various airlines.

Why do you have to be so rude? It is a great thread many enjoy, and the OP said his list is not exhaustive/100% correct, and asked for input and updates.

Plus, you are incorrect as well: The way you worded your post, BA goes double daily 748 to ORD! Wishful thinking? Glasshouses?

Sorry I have not included Chicago in my list, I have only been able to use flightradar24 as it was my only source of accurate information. As I stated in the first post, this is a progressive thread which will be updated as info comes available. I do not believe there was any 747 flight's going into or out of chicago at the time I created the thread so it would make sense that I had missed the information that comes with the flight being in the air (Flightradar24 can only see flights when their signals are active and running). I will take this information into account and update the lists. However I do ask that next time someone misses something and you have corrective infromation to give to them, you make sure that you have taken all factors into account and adress them in a more appropriate manner.

Try CA’s online schedules, some of them show aircraft type while some don’t, others might just say 747 rather than 744 or 748.

KE ICN-AKL 748 is seasonal DEC-FEB most years. I think ICN-FCO is a NS seasonal 748 as well.

It shows CA986 as a SFO-PEK-CKG routing with a change of planes to a 77W for the PEK-CKG sector on the date I checked atleast. SFO-PEK is 748 though.

Yes thankyou for looking into this, Ziyulu told me the 748 continued onto PEK but it seems they must have stopped the service to supplement the services the 744's must have been operating until their decomissioning.

YYZ is scheduled as a year round 744, the A343 only operated for about a month or two this year, seemingly to help cover for the AB flights (AC maintained its 2x daily YYZ-FRA flights on the 77W and 789). The 747 is scheduled to return next week January 15th. In the past, it has never left like this, this schedule update came shortly before the swap.

So, the LH744 has been absent from Toronto for around a month while the regular 744 is used on other routes which Lufhtansa lost during the Air berlin shutdown and the route was instead operated by the A343 although the regular 744 should be back in the next week or so, do you know if this happened to any other routes in order to keep planes on the routes that Air Berlin lost?

Great job, thank you! Just one correction: The airport LH is serving in Buenos Aires is EZE (Ezeiza) not AEP (Aeroparque). AEP couldn’t handle the 748. It’s mainly used for domestic flights.

That I dont know, but they were using a 744 and an a346 for rescue flights, so it would have to have been a MUC flight as well that changed

Summertime sees a lot of flights from LED and VKO to Crimea as well as Sochi, all for little money, mostly less than EUR100 one way. The all Eco configs of FV allow great freedom of choice for an Eco ticket, even Upper Deck seats. I highly recommend FV! A shame they don't operate the Roller 744s UN once had...

Please don't forget to mention you advertise participation in illegal activity -- i.e. illegal crossing of Ukrainian border and landing in UKFF/SIP -- airport closed to operations to civilized humanity.

Here's what's currently loaded in OAG for 2018. I don't have time to edit this down to one direction, sorry. 405 one-directional routes, and the number of flights loaded into OAG.

Airline / From / To / Count
...
SU AER VKO 13
SU KHV VKO 70
SU LED SIP 57
SU SIP LED 57
SU SIP VKO 57
SU VKO AER 13
SU VKO KHV 85
SU VKO SIP 57
SU VKO VVO 19
SU VVO VKO 20
...

Are these flights really operated by SU planes and crews? I always thought those 744 were FV's.

Are you joking? Then where would civilized humanity be able to land? Guantanamo Bay?

As far as I understand, most of the crews operating FV 744s are former UN staff. I really don't know what happened to the ones operating Orenairs 772. On the other hand, there are quite some 777 in Russia, so most likely there is some fluctuation between the companies. FV still remains the sole pax 744 operator, but there are some Russian cargo operators... Russia seems to have quite some demand. Not so much as before the bankrupcy wave, but still. It yould be interesting how traffic compares to RFSFR numbers from the 80ies and early 90ies to now.

Other topic: how about the Mahan 743s? If active, should be the last ones for sure. I really prefer the classic 747 and think the SP is somewhat the coolest, most estethic.

And not only that. Time goes by as well and that means in many ways retirement for these birds.

From my childhood I remember it being brandnew and fancy, the 744. There are some planes thst actually really made a difference, the 747 was one of those. Although with the ARJ21, MA60 and C919 as well as the MS21 there is hope for some adventure, I miss the days in which flights were like 30% from now, but all those nice aircraft.... and now its all the same, some bigger some smaller, that's it.

KLM AMS-HKG is a mix of 747 and 777. Source is their booking site a couple of months ago, I checked March and June. If I remember correctly, they fly a 747 Combi 3 x weekly.

This is a great thread. Those maps are great too.

Need to get planning and get that upper deck flight while I still can!
