LATAM Peru division are already serving both Salta and Tucumán out of Lima.
That being said, it’s not a dumb idea the possibility of CM in these stations later.
The Argentine Government had been extremely protectionist before, in opening new stations for carriers from abroad.

Some nasty eruption this was.
El Salvador's government released a statement, making MSLP and MSSS available for all the flights affected by the eruption.

Most airlines serving GUA are avoiding penalties for those passengers traveling to Guatemala City at this time.
This policy also applies at MGA due to the social inestability in Nicaragua.

Yesterday most GUA inbound flights opted to return to their points of origin. The exception was IB 6341 which was diverted to SAL.

At around 5pm (-6 GMT) the Civil aviation authority started working to clean the runway with the help of the Guatemalan army and workers from Guatemala City’s municipality.

The runway at GUA opened at 8 am (-6 GMT).

Do you happen to have an SJO timetable from January/February 1990? Specifically where KL is mentioned? If I remember correctly, back then, our route was AMS-CUR-CCS-SJO, but recently I always have doubts about that (plus we probably no longer have even the boarding cards with us).

A Interjet A320 XA-SUN flew threw the ash on sunday and it is having some work done in GUA.

That's odd. I faintly remember that the departure out of CUR ended up being a very short flight, and CUR-PTY is obviously longer than CUR-CCS. I just wished I had a KL timetable from that time with me, or even whatever remains of that ticket.

Just announced on the news, new flight: YVR to LIR. SWG will operate this seasonal service from Dec. 23rd 2018 to Mar. 31st 2019 using a Boeing 737Max 8. Nice to see LIR growing on connectivity, this flight adds up to the recently announced MEX-LIR by AMX, I hope the streak continues, LIR could use another European destination other than the once a week TOM flight from LGW.

According to flightradar24 MGA has 6 CM flights per day: 1 to GUA, 2 to SJO and 3 to PTY.

From what has been published in the news, the flights that have been cancelled or rescheduled were the ones that had the crew staying overnight.

So once again charter flights in a bad light. Due to missing authorisation by DGAC, a charter flight from SJO to Russia is being delayed. Apparently, the flight that was organised by DestinosTV, has yet to deliver all the necessary permits and documentation, as well as clear things with Aeris.

Question: Anyone know which airline is operating? They're talking 300 passengers, so I'm guessing we're talking about something the size of a 777 or 747-400?

ORD-SJO is seasonal. On peak days it runs 2x daily (one a red eye). ORD-LIR also goes 2x on peak days in winter.

ORD-BZE runs year round.

One of the leased Boeing 747-400 from Atlas Air was utilized in those days for catering Costa Rican fans to Brazil.



I heard a very known radio-show at noon four years ago, where one angry passenger talked about his experience on a apparently Boeing 777 from Malaysia and operating another charter flight from Costa Rica to Brazil, in June 2014.
No meal service on board. No in-flight entertainment. Limited flight attendents and only available for take-off and landing. Brutal departure hours and paying more than US 10 000.
The MH 370 [KUL-PEK] accident happened in March 2014 and the airline obviously experiencied issues in that date.
It was just his biassed opinion.

I remember the 5Y 747 (from pictures, I didn't yet return full time to Costa Rica). Back then I was even surprised about them having passenger aircraft in the first place. Anyway, about that charter from Destinos TV: https://www.crhoy.com/nacionales/jose-c ... e-cancelo/

They announced that it has been cancelled. The boss from Destinos TV claims an international fraud they became a victim of, shifting the blame to the people who were supposed to operate the flight. Passengers allegedly spent up to 10,000 Dollars just for this trip to Russia. That said, Destinos TV and its CEO claim that they're taking responsibility for what happened. How this will manifest itself, refunds, etc., remains to be seen.

B6 just got beat to the punch by NK. Spirit just anounced 11 new destinations from MCO and 5 are in Centam: GUA x4, SAL x2, SAP x2, SJO x4 then x7, and PTY x4 with flights starting October 4 and October 5.

With AV, CM and now NK the saying “camarón que se durme” comes to mind regarding B6.

NK just announced opening routes to Central America from MCO. Looks like my hometown airport (SAP) is becoming NK's most served destination in Central America as it will now have flights to FLL, IAH (the sole flight of the expansion that survived in Houston) and now MCO. The timings are excellent since that will allow people a full week of work and then head for the airport for starting their family vacations.

No idea of NK MCO-PTY-MCO times, but even if red-eyes as FLL-PTY-FLL, it most likely would do OK.
Regardless of the schedule, NK has kept flying FLL-PTY up to daily while CM doesn't even fly to FLL daily, and that's CM with PTY O/D demand, better departure/arrival times and all the hub feed it could get.

I think this is a first for 9N, COPA making sure they get every last passenger. Sounds like a win win all around for both.

The “red-eye” schedule is basically focused for the business traffic as well as the “visiting friends and relatives” component.
This won’t be the case for the Orlando - Central America sector.
In my view, the leisure traffic would mostly load the planes of Spirit.
I expect full daylight flights on NK [Orlando - Central America].

PBM could be link to GEO future frequency increase.
SLA might make sense as demand for CM in Argentina can't be fill with the new frequencies and if the service is due for late this year, CM will be taking advantage of the summer season travel in Argentina.
SAN seems odd at this point, but if CM statistics of how many of its LAX passengers are actually SAN entice it to fly to SAN, who knows.

Out of left field maybe St. Lucia? BGI bookings are supposedly very strong and Copa might want to add the last "major" island. I would Agree that PBM and SLA are likely candidates. In the USA, perhaps PHL or AUS or SAT.
