How does that work in terms of immigration laws - i.e. People have obtained VISA's etc to enter the US, but are diverted to Canada?

I had the same question, why didn't they land in any other US airport?

Aeroflot in 2018 seems unlikely:

Aeroflot defers A350 deliveries

Aeroflot (SU, Moscow Sheremetyevo) has deferred delivery of its fleet of A350-900s until 2019 at the earliest. According to Vedomosti, Aeroflot has signed a USD991,326 contract with UK-based industrial design specialist Priestman Goode to complete designs for the A350's interiors by October 2019.

Pretty much every airport in the US northeast was affected and so was ORD so they probably wanted to get somewhere they could actually land and leave from which was a CX station.
Not sure but Canada is usually less fussy about visas than US so if they had a US visa they were probably ok to get a Canadian one but if they were only transiting probably not an issue anyway.

How many A350s does LH have? How many deliveries will they have this year?

Is there a production list of A350s somewhere like the All Things 787 blog? The one I know of hasn't been updated in years...

First A350-1000 Commercial Flight Coming Up

Tue Feb 06, 2018 9:05 am

Although, Qatar Airways, the world's first operator of the A350-1000, did not announce what destination the new plane will fly to, I have checked schedules for QR, and it seems the first commercial flight would be Friday Feb. 16, 2018 on QR 15 DOH-LHR; if the plane gets delievered soon.

Can't wait for the new plane to arrive for the first time to Hamad International Airport, and then off to LHR.

And now at FL400 over Iraq, about 1.5 hours into the flight.

Currently in the Bulgarian airspace. It will be soon entering the Romanian airspace

Interestingly enough, FR24 assigns B777 icon for A350-1041 :rotfl:

How is this flight booked. Is it a specific flight stating a plane type A35K or is it a daily flight where a plane with approx. the same seating may be used ?

Very impressed with SQ31/32 SIN-SFO-SIN long sector lengths and rarely off schedule, normally early arrivals both ends! This operation demonstrates the excellence of the A350-900!

Dare one say it! The EIS of A7-AN QR on daily Doha London Doha has been very smooth offering around 13 hours utilisation per day albeit day of rest on Fridays! Looks as if a well deserved “well done “ to QR and AB service teams ...long may it continue! I hope the aircraft performance data is demonstrating the excellence of this aircraft and the inevitable minor niggles cabin related being addressed.

There was no rest day...it flew the earlier QR1 on a particular day. It has been almost a month in service now and it looks like 100% dispatch reliability.

For some reason the a350 seems unable to land in the fog at Seoul while other aircraft are doing it. Yesterday Delta diverted and today Asiana. On both occasions other aircraft are landing. Is there some certification issue specific to South Korea which is causing this?

-1000 EIS with QR going smoothly with extra sectors DOH-KWI pushing daily utilisation to around 15hours. Bet they can’t wait to to extra copies in service! Hope AB give full update on performance at nex5 financial briefing.

3 days short of two months in service and not a single service disruption for the -1000... Perhaps best EIS for a derivative.

Indeed. But the first -1000 to be delivered must feel quite lonely in the air; the second to be delivered (not sure which one it will be at this point) has not even made it to the flight line yet... The first one for Cathay was supposed to be delivered in April. Not sure when it will be. Any info on -1000 production and delivery ?

Hopefully this kind of positive news from a disserning CEO will prompt others to place some orders in the near
future. I seem to have read a fair bit of A330Neo bashing on these pages of late........this makes a nice change!
